The Week That Was: Captured #63

Hello! Hello! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you all had a fabulous week?

The rules are simple; link up one post about your week! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!

Last week
I loved reading about Hannah’s (Mums Days) attempt at cake baking! She’s got some very good advice for “non-bakers”. Gwenn had her first day at Nursery, and Beth’s (Betty and the Bumps) post brought back a lot of memories! Laura and Tia’s (Little Button Diaries) photos had me feeling extremely broody!!! Gorgeous!

Our week
It’s been another crazy one this week! Busby has decided that naps and evening sleeps are for fools, just when we desperately need that time to sort out wedding things. Have you ever tried making pompom garland with a toddler around? I wouldn’t recommend it… We always knew her middle name was Awkward, not Annabelle!

On Sunday we headed to our local animal sanctuary for a picnic and wander. Being around animals really relaxes me, and it definitely helped. Busby especially loved looking at all the dogs.

I can’t remember what we did on Monday but I remember that Busby was in an especially cheeky mood!

Busby had Nursery on Tuesday and I worked most of the day. I finally started painting the chalkboards for the wedding – much to our nosy neighbours’ delight!

I decided to head into Brighton on Wednesday morning with Busby, as needed to pick up some wedding bits. We met Nick for lunch. I had to run some errands once we were back in Lewes, and Busby walked almost the whole way into town! We visited the park after all the walking in an attempt to achieve a positive outcome for Operation Exhaust Busby… Somehow she found energy to keep running around upstairs, way past bedtime!

Busby and I went over to Mutti’s on Thursday. We had a very yummy lunch out and then ran some errands in Lindfield (translate this as “paid all suppliers for wedding”). Busby finally napped, so we explored the garage in search of frames, while she slept in the car! Busby then had a lovely play in Mutti’s garden with Basil the dog and “Mimi cat” (Tinkerbell the cat).

We had Monkey Music on Friday morning, and then went for a picnic in The Paddock with friends. Busby and Co-conspirator H had a wonderful time on a very muddy mound, which was much more exciting than the slide. Obviously. I spent the evening in breakdown mode, fretting about the wedding whilst simultaneously making 8 metres of pompom garland…

Saturday was one of those days for various reasons… to sum it all up for you – I put the iron in the fridge. I think the wedding stress might be getting to me now… Nick was working on Saturday morning, so Busby, Mutti and I had lunch with my Grandpa. Nick, Busby and I then headed to Wickes for further wedding supplies in the afternoon, and then visited Miss Mabels for tea and cake. Busby enjoyed exploring the vintage toy section.

Wow it all sounds very exciting now – not long to go! Loving the sound of all your added touches – the blackboards and photo booths. Your pics are lovely, especially the one of Busby on the tractor, looks great in black and white 🙂

Oh bless you putting the iron in the fridge. Those last couple of weeks are a mixture of craziness getting things ready and also the calm before the storm when you realise there isn’t enough time to do it all and so have to let it take its course! Hope you have a good week. xx

I often put the iron in the fridge…but current thing is trying to ‘grind the cat food’…rather than ‘grind the coffee beans’….! Hope you are managing some chill out time too. Vicky x
