The Week That Was: Captured #106

Hullo! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you had a wonderful week?

The rules for #TWTWC are simple; link up one post about your week (it doesn’t have to be the whole week – it can just be one day, or your weekend)! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!

Last Week

notorious mum

I loved Lisa’s post last week about how she really should stop swearing. So SO funny!

Beth’s post last week rocked – mostly because Gwenn is a huge Marvel fan and looked awesome in her Captain America tee!

I was sooo envious of Jo’s evening out drinking with friends! Also, Daniel with his pant hat was super cute!!

Our Week

And thus ends the week in which my two darling children battle to send me over the edge into insanity… Thank f**k for that.

I am at a loss as to what we did on Sunday.

Nick was back at work on Monday, and I had a wonderful first day of solo parenting two children. You can read my smug account here.

1. Dressed and fed! (Monday) // 2. Homemade chai latte (Monday) // 3. 5 weeks old (Tuesday) // 4. Well-needed prosecco (Tuesday)

Tuesday was hellish and on the whole a disaster (which you can read about here). I did, however, get to finally meet the lovely Laura aka @MrsLouPops in the flesh for the first time after almost three years of online friendship, which was wonderful!

Busby had Nursery on Wednesday morning, and I spent the morning in bed feeding Indy. We had a boring afternoon as the weather was pants again.

Busby was at Nursery all day Thursday, but Indy spent most of the day awake so I was unable to take advantage of napping opportunities. It was a pretty awful day to be honest. I’m feeling very homesick and missing my support network in Sussex.

We had the night from hell on Friday with both children awake and not much sleep for anyone, so we were all feeling dreadful! Nick was off, so we spent the day recuperating. We went for a walk in the afternoon as the sun was shining, which helped immensely.

Saturday was a better day in terms of sleep. We went to Waitrose in the morning and found some rose plants reduced to £2.99 for our front garden! We had lunch in the café as Indy needed a feed. Then we drove around looking for a garden centre as we needed a few bits and bobs.

5. Snoozing (Wednesday) // 6. “She’s taking my photo again!” (Thursday) // 7. Helpful Busby (Friday) // 8. Matchy-matchy buddies (Saturday)

What have you been up to this week?

On a side note, we’ve got visitors and then are away for my birthday 16th, 23rd and 30th August, so I’m looking for a few people to host #TWTWC. Please let me know if you’re interested and I’ll try to be more organised than I was sorting out maternity cover!!!

I hope you don’t get any more nights with both of them awake. I think I would have just sobbed. It sounds like you are doing fantastically and hopefully lots and lots of calm days will come to you all this week xx

Your week is giving me flashbacks to when Alice (my third) was born. Or it would, if I could remember any of it. It’s a total blur of sleeplessness and grumpiness and milky boobs and baby sick. It gets easier my dear, it really does! And – dare I say – becomes so much fun! But the first six months … just … wow. xx

  3. 2nd August 2015 / 8:41 am

Thank you for the lovely mention. Sorry you didn’t get much sleep. Hope it is better this week. I am happy to host one of the week’s if you like. I just can’t do 30th as I am on holiday then too xxx

Sorry it has been a hard week 🙁 I know how you feel about missing your support network. I lived away from home until Joseph was 6 months so I understand how it feels. Hope you have a better week next week. I can host #TWTWC on either 23rd or 30th August xx

  5. 2nd August 2015 / 12:27 pm

Big hugs lovely and I hope that this week is a wonderful one for you all xxx

I know it’s not any help but I know what you mean about missing your support network. I have just come back from staying with my parents and things are so much easier when you’re not having to do things alone! Here’s hoping for a better week next week with more sleep for you all! Xx

  6. 2nd August 2015 / 7:36 pm

Oh sounds like you had a rough couple of days I hope you have caught up on your sleep now, such cute photos as always thanks for hosting xx

The weather hasn’t been up to much here in Newcastle either. I don’t like Summer but I really appreciate jusyt how much easier it is to look after babies when it’s nice out. Gwenn will NOT stay inside, even when she’s ill, so I’m always trudging around with wet feet and frizzy hair! x

  8. 2nd August 2015 / 8:32 pm

Oh no, I hope this week is better and you get abit more sleep. thanks for hosting x

  9. 2nd August 2015 / 8:51 pm

Oh Hannah, I just want to give you a huge hug.

You survived the week, you can breathe a sigh of relief as it’s over now. On to the next one…

I’m not linking up this week because I had a pretty miserable week too and I couldn’t bear to write about it.

I know how you feel about missing your support your network. I don’t have one where I live either and it’s one of the things I find most difficult about being a parent. Most days I’m am so ridiculously lonely. Ho hum!

Anyway, I just want to say that I hope you have a much better week this week.

Happy to help out with the hosting too if you need anyone else, can do any of those dates. Just let me know –

I absolutely take my hat off to you and ALL parents out there because I honestly am so in awe. Thank you for sharing the bad as well as as the good and if it’s any consolation I too have been out with toothpaste in my hair when I only have me to look after X

Every week… no: day… no: hour that I survive with a toddler seems like a miracle sometimes. Anyone who manages it with two little ones is a superhero as far as I’m concerned. Well done – I’m sorry it was a bit of a rollercoaster, but things will get easier. I hope this week has been bette so far. 🙂
