Review // Connecta Baby Carrier

connecta baby carrier reviewBaby-wearing is an essential state of being in our household, with H-Bear being both a reflux baby and a velcro baby! So, as you can imagine, I was very excited when our beautiful Liberty print Connecta Baby Carrier arrived at the beginning of December; I couldn’t wait to put it through its paces, and prayed it would be super comfy for wearing my ever-growing baby.

Connecta are now stocked at Marks & Spencer, with a debut collection launched in October (in 14 stores and online); the first wave of stock sold out and it continues to sell rapidly. Connecta at M&S features the classic Tana Lawn cotton of Liberty of London, the handwoven luxury of Harris Tweed and beautifully breathable organic cotton.

We were sent a Connecta in the Liberty Oxford print, which is truly divine. The greens, purples, blues and yellows of the fabric are just gorgeous, and the perfect print for a unisex carrier. Also the perfect print for little explorers, as the design was inspired by a private Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland tour around Christ Church water meadows and the streets of Oxford, lead by expert and author Mark Davies.

The Connecta is a parent facing carrier – which is ideal for snoozing. H-Bear can still see out of it when he’s awake, and always seems very comfortable when I’m wearing him.

You can also use the Connecta for back carrying.

The Connecta Baby Carrier SO simple to use; no looking up instructions or you-tube videos while you’re out and about and have forgotten how to use it! It’s also very simple to adjust – featuring crossable straps, which provide maximum comfort and ideal weight distribution.

One of my favourite features is the integrated sleephood, which provides support for sleeping heads, and can also be tucked away completely into the body of the carrier to create a pocket. Super handy!

The Connecta is very compact; folding away small enough to fit in my changing bag when we’re not using it.

Since becoming proud owners of the Connecta Baby Carrier, I have used it every day to wear H-Bear. It’s still as comfortable as it was on day one; H-Bear still falls asleep almost immediately in it, and it still looks beautiful with no visible signs of wear (other than it having been dribbled on by a teething baby!).

The Connecta Baby Carrier is a wonderful product, and one I’d highly recommend; both for first time parents looking for an easy, but beautifully designed carrier for their munchkin, and for the more experienced baby-wearing parent! And I’m not the only one who thinks this; in 2015, Connecta won numerous awards, including Baby wearing category GOLD Award & Consumer Choice Award (Mummii UK 2015 Awards), Baby Carriers category – Silver Award (Little London 2015 Awards), and 2015 Gold Award (Prima Baby).

The Connecta Baby Carrier is suitable from 3.5kg to toddlerhood (further sizes can be purchased for toddlers and preschoolers), and is designed in Britain, made ethically in the EU, and packaged in England.

The Liberty Oxford Connecta Baby Carrier costs £75 and can be purchased through the Connecta website. Alternative designs can be found on the Marks & Spencer website.

Great post, I have a Connecta which I bought for when others (like my partner or sister) wanted to carry my little girl. I prefer wraps or ring slings. I found that rolling the sleep hood up and clipping it to the shoulders provided a lovely support for younger babies heads too.

There are a lot of selling groups of facebook too for slings, where second hand connectas come up very often, you can pick them up from £50.

Great post! I also have a connecta and also love it! Mine is a monster print! As you said very easy and comfortable to wear. I havnt worked out how to turn the hood into a pocket though? Crazy times! 🙂 I usually roll mine and clip it in place 🙂
