Ahh CBeebies, the saviour of parents throughout the land! Busby has been a Bing fan for a year or so now, and H-Bear (who is just starting to become interested in the television) enjoys a bit of Bing too, so I was very excited when we were asked to try out Bing Bunny’s very first (and brand spanking new) interactive app: Bing Baking.
“Baking, it’s a Bing Thing.”
The app is very simple and incredibly easy to pick up – Busby got the hang of it within the first few minutes, and then continued to play it on repeat for the next hour and a half of our journey back to Yorkshire last weekend.
The premise behind the Bing Baking app is straightforward: follow Bing and Flop through the process of baking biscuits. Everything from rolling out the dough, to cutting out shapes (you can choose from various different cutters), to putting them in the oven and waiting for chicky-timer to say the biscuits are ready!
Busby’s favourite part of the game is the decorating of the biscuits, which you then get to “eat” as your virtual self!
The music, animation and storyline is all within keeping with the television programme, and Busby had fun pointing out various things in Bing’s house.
It’s ideal for the preschool age group, and possibly pre-three; although they’d probably need adult guidance when playing. H-Bear has enjoyed poking the screen and adding sprinkles to the biscuits.
The app costs £2.99 and can be purchased through the iTunes store.
It has also inspired us to get in the kitchen and have a little baking session of our own; the first that H-Bear has joined in with! It was so lovely to have both children standing on chairs helping… Although H-Bear wanted to put everything in his mouth!
Giveaway
Not only have we been reviewing the app, but we’ve also been giving Bing and Hoppity Voosh a cuddle or three!
I’ve got a lovely little Bing Baking themed giveaway on the blog today, where one lucky winner will become the proud owner of their very own “My Friend Bing” toy, and as well as receiving a unique code to download the Bing Baking app.
“My Friend Bing” is a playful and energetic toy, who loves to sing, run and play games. Press his button and he will come to life moving his ears, talking, walking and running. Bingsters can even join in and play Bing’s favourite games with him!
All you have to do is enter using the Rafflecopter below. T&Cs apply. UK entrants only please. Giveaway ends Monday 8th August at 00:00.
