What the Children Wore // Turtledove London

turtledove london review

Regular readers will know how much I love twinning H-Bear and Busby (I’m getting the matching clothes in before they can protest, groan and cringe at me!) so I was very excited when we were offered a pair of Turtledove London Humbug dungarees for Busby, to match the ones I’d already bought for H-Bear.

Turtledove London are a relatively new brand (launched February 2016) – and are completely new to me. I stumbled across them on Instagram (as all good children’s clothing love stories begin) and I have been hooked ever since. Their clothes are all GOTS certificated organic cotton, and they have got their pricing so right that I will be buying from them season after season.

The dungas that my two are wearing in this shoot are only £10 in the sale (down from £20). They are incredibly soft, incredibly unisex, and just generally incredible.

They’re so comfy for all manner of play – from rolling around in fields, to clambering and climbing trees, to sandpit adventures. Both children always seem comfortable and happy in these garments. Busby loves the little pocket at the front of the dungarees, and we find all sorts of treasure in there pre-wash!

Sizing wise, H-Bear is wearing age 1-2 years (he’s 13 months) and Busby is wearing 4-5 years (she’s 3.5 years), so I’d definitely recommend sizing up as I have found sizing to be on the smaller side. The beauty of these dungas is that the cuffs can be rolled up without compromising on the style so, even if they’re a little bit too big, or if the weather is warmer than you thought it was going to be, they can still be worn! In fact, the cuff-rolling means that they will last even longer.

The dungarees fasten by neat metal poppers, so there’s no fear of button holes getting over-stretched. (This is something that frequently occurs in our household!)

I think you can probably gather from the tone of this post that I have been very impressed by Turtledove London’s maiden season. I also bought Busby a pair of cloud leggings, which are equally as gorgeous. The quality is fantastic wash-after-wash, the garments are stylish and on-trend, they’re all unisex so can be handed down, AND the kids love wearing the clothes! What more can you ask for?
