Siblings // September 2016

I’m a day late with Siblings this month as our laptop has pretty much died and I’ve been waiting for our new computer to arrive… Thankfully, the computer is finally here (YAY!) so I can share what Busby and H-Bear have been up to this month.

This month’s photos were taken on Whitby beach last weekend. The weather was amazing for September and we had the most wonderful time. Both children adored being by the sea! We spent hours building sandcastles, paddling, picnicking (with obligatory sand in our sandwiches), and all of us were absolutely shattered by bedtime.

So how has September been with these two? Well, they get on increasingly better with each month that passes! They are like two peas in a pod! Both cheeky, energetic and hilarious. They love each other so much too; when I walk in to check on them while they’re playing in the lounge, I often find Busby with her arm around H-Bear’s shoulders.

H-Bear has taken to rugby-tackling Busby when she least expects it. It’s quite amusing to watch, although H-Bear doesn’t really take in his surroundings, and there have been a few injury near-misses!

He also loves twirling and dancing with her!

Busby started Preschool a few days ago, and H-Bear has missed her lots. I think she’s missed him too as she has bounded out of school on both days exclaiming “H-BEAR!” as soon as she sees him! Oh, and FYI, apparently the best thing about school is that your pudding is served next to your main course… She’s definitely my child.

Busby is very concerned about what H-Bear and I get up to while she’s at Preschool, and has voiced her concern: “But you will be putting him in Nursery, won’t you?!” I think she’s suffering from a little bit of FOMO, which is fair enough really as we’ve spent almost the entire past 3 months together adventuring in Sussex and enjoying the sunshine.

I love watching these two play together, and see their bond increase more and more as time passes. After the initial difficult period with two children, I’m really starting to appreciate how glorious it is for them both to have a sibling to play with… if just for the hot tea and 5 minutes to scroll through Instagram!

There is nothing better than toes in the sand and playing with your siblings on the beach. I have so many fond memories of this with my own siblings it’s beautiful to see with other siblings. I remember how much I laughed growing up with siblings and its such a blessing to have two or more isn’t it? Yours sound like two peas in a pod and look so happy together. What gorgeous photos captures this month #siblingsproject
