Family Fun // #DadsWhoPlayBarbie

“Logic will get you from A to Z; imagination will get you everywhere.” ― Albert Einstein.

At four, Busby is the perfect age for imagination play – and what an imagination she has! From sailing the seven seas in search of treasure, to blasting into space with Flopsy bunny, this girl can (and will be) anything!

The lovely folk at Barbie sent her a box full of dolls and accessories to help some of her stories along and, as part of their #DadsWhoPlayBarbie campaign, they wanted Nick to join her on an adventure or three!

Barbie has changed a lot since I played with her 20-25 years ago. The 2017 range of Barbies includes dolls with empowering new careers, diverse new body shape ‘Fashionistas’, and also athlete dolls. It’s great to see how the brand is progressing and getting with the inspiring female movement that is currently upon us.

Nick loves to play with the children as it is, but Busby was so chuffed to have him join her on the Barbies’ adventures!

(She was so excited about this weekend of Barbie playing that she made them a little bed at preschool this week!)

They went to a party… and then skateboarding… and then to the Vets! And then back to their house where they all had a big sleepover.

The naked-other-than-shoes party that Busby had mentioned on Friday never transpired, which I think Nick was pretty relieved about.

I love the message that Barbie are promoting in this campaign:

“Time spent in her imaginary world is an investment in her real world.”

And their campaign video is the cutest!

Busby and Nick spent a lovely morning playing together on Sunday, and I have a feeling this will become a regular part of our weekend routine.

Lovely post Hannah and such gorgeous photos of them playing together. Ones I’m sure Busby will cherish when she is older. It’s so important for Dad’ to play both with their girls and boys. Lucky Busby to have such a fun dad. X

Oh this is a lovely campaign! My girls have brilliant imaginations and they love playing together with their barbies but it’s good to have a reminder to join them in their games sometimes because I’m sure they would love it so much xx
