Monsoon are renowned for their gorgeous clothes, so when a parcel arrived containing pieces from their beautiful AW17 collection, there was rather a lot of leaping for joy here at Make, Do & Push! HQ.
The children and I have (rather excitingly) featured over on the Monsoon blog in the lead up to Halloween with these rather awesome Spider Biscuits and some spooky DIY Glitter Slime, if you fancy checking the posts out!
Busby, H-Bear and I were all sent an outfit each, so this week’s What the Children Wore has a little cameo from me too.
I’ll start with Busby, who was sent the most divine dress from the Monsoon Girl’s department.
Busby wears the Disco Galaxy Dress, which (I’m sure you’ll all agree) is absolutely stunning.
Intricately hand-embellished with sequinned moons and stars, this gorgeous dress is the perfect garment for everything from parties, to pumpkin patch explorations!
Also, the skirt has the most fantastic twirl, and who doesn’t love a twirly dress?!
Made from a combination of cotton and polyester, the dress is very comfortable and we’ve had no complaints from Busby. In fact, she’s chosen to wear it A LOT, which speaks volumes.
The aqua, silver, gold and grey colour scheme is absolutely stunning, and very on trend. I love how the long-sleeved top is striped with metallic thread to give the dress an extra sparkle. Perfection!
Busby wears age 5-6 years, which fits wonderfully. The gorgeous Disco Galaxy Dress retails at £34, and would be the most marvellous dress for swiftly approaching Christmas parties – or even as an interpretation of the White Witch for Halloween.
H-Bear was sent a pair of (very appropriately named) Nick chinos and the cutest ‘Super Hero’ long sleeved tee.
The tee is made from cotton, and is perfect for any little person who loves to explore. It’s very comfy and breathable – even when trying to lift a giant pumpkin!
I love the contrasting navy and blue stripes with the red body. It’s bold and beautiful.
The chinos are also made from cotton, and I love the deep navy shade. The striped waistband is adorable!
H-Bear wears age 2-3 years in the tee and 18-24 months in the chinos. Both fit him well with room to grow. The Super Hero long sleeved tee costs £14 and his Nick chinos are £21. Monsoon have some gorgeous clothes in their boys section at the moment, so definitely pop along and have a look.
Now, onto me!
Monsoon sent me the seriously gorgeous Felicity Floral Yolke Embroidery dress, which I have fallen head over heels for. I was so worried that it wasn’t going to fit following 12 weeks of pregnancy, but the size 14 fits wonderfully and Nick has proclaimed it to be his “favourite dress” of mine for a while.
The dress is made from a combination of cotton, wool, viscose and nylon and is incredibly comfortable to wear. I also feel pretty awesome when wearing it, which counts for a lot – especially after the miscarriage.
The embroidery on the dress is gorgeous and floral, which is very on trend at the moment.
The Felicity Floral Yolke Embroidery dress costs £69, and I cannot recommend it enough if you’re looking for something stylish and comfortable for everything from being a mother (fish finger cooking/crawling around on the floor/den building/school runs) to date nights.
I was also sent a gorgeous pair of Brianna Brocade boots, which I would have been wearing in these shots if the pumpkin field wasn’t so muddy!
The boots are perfection, with a small block heel and divine tapestry of florals in orange, green, pink and purple. They fasten with a side zip and are ridiculously comfy.
I am in LOVE!
The Brianna Brocade boots retail at £69 and I can’t wait to wear them out when the ground is a little less muddy… So definitely date night next week!
All of the above pieces can be found on the Monsoon website now. Which is your favourite?
