“Mummy?” said Busby, “What does my jumper say?”
“We’ll read it together.”
We spell out ‘Strong Girls Club’ phonetically, as only one can with an almost five-year-old with a new-found excitement for independent reading.
“Strong Girls Club! Can I wear it every day? I’m a strong girl!”
And just like that, a little more confidence and strength was instilled in my daughter.
It’s hard to believe that Gemma has only been running Mutha.Hood for just over a year. I remember chatting to her about it when she was in the planning stages; I was trying to convince her to join forces with me and set up a new blog together, but she was busy laying the ground work for her amazing endeavour. And she has taken the Mama Merch market by storm!
As a lover of all things childrenswear, I was over the moon when she started making tees and sweaters for children.
Gemma sent Busby her very own Strong Girls Club sweater – and a matching one for me too (which I haven’t had a chance to photograph yet).
The Strong Girls Club sweater is made from an organic cotton combo (85% cotton, 15% polyester) and has the softest unbrushed terry fleece interior. It’s gorgeously soft and comfy!
The sweater is the most beautiful shade of blush pink (flattering for all!) and the ‘Strong Girls Club’ logo is hand screen printed here in the UK, using eco-friendly, water-based inks.
It’s such a versatile garment, pairing perfectly with jeans, skirts and even dungarees for the 80s Stranger Things ‘Eleven’ look!
I’ve teamed it with a little Peter Pan collared shirt from JoJo Maman Bébé for these photos.
Busby wears age 5-6 years, which fits well with room to grow.
Any garment that makes my daughter feel strong and empowered is a wonderful thing. Instilling the messages of strength and equality in our children is something I feel very strongly about, and I love that Busby has declared this her “favourite jumper”!
Busby’s Strong Girls Club sweater costs £23 and the adult version costs £38. Both can be found on the Mutha.Hood website, which is a joyful online shop to peruse during naptime with a hot cup of tea!
NEED! The tees have been in my basket for ages but now these jumpers, how will I choose??
Love these photos and Busby’s reaction!
What gorgeous items in the store – love that this instilled a new sense of strong into your little lady
I LOVE these! – Busby’s reaction is brilliant as well. I’ve been desperate for a Mutha.Hood jumper for a while, this hasn’t quite helped that! I wonder if Santa will bring me one…
Thats AWESOME! I’ve seen the adult version but I didn’t know there was a girls version too, wonder if they go right down to Violet’s size, I’ll have to have a look – or just buy her a bigger one to grow into. She NEEDS one of these!
Oh I love this! Cora and I have the matching tees but we might need the jumpers now too!
