It’s the final Siblings post of the year – and what a crazy year it’s been. We have made some truly wonderful memories and have had some fantastic adventures! Highlights include our visit to Hampshire in July and our Lake District adventure in August, and some of our Lake District adventure in June… well, the vomit and chicken pox free moments!
This month’s photos were taken on our visit to see Father Christmas at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. I’ve written about our day in more detail here. The children had a wonderful time!
H-Bear is definitely more interested in Christmas this year. He absolutely adores the lights in the village on the school run, pointing out ‘nooofwakes!’ (snowflakes), shooting stars and ‘Fadder Missmas!’ (Father Christmas). He’s also rather keen on rearranging the baubles on the Christmas tree when I’m out of the room… which Busby then hides in the cross-stitched house on our mantelpiece. They are so cheeky together!
Busby seems to be much more excited about her birthday than Christmas this year. Although to be fair, she’s having a birthday party with school friends a few days before her birthday, so the whole ‘opening presents’ experience will be even longer this year… I’m not surprised she’s so excited!
She is playing ‘Angel #1’ in the school nativity next week and she’s been practising her line with gusto at home. I’ve managed to wangle it so I can see both performances, and will be taking tissues!
Our new addition to the family – Bertie Custard – has been a joy to have around over the past month. After a few teething issues (mostly involving toilet training), he has settled in wonderfully and the children love having another crazy creature full of boundless energy around! It’s a little bit like we’ve adopted another toddler… a very hairy one, who likes to nibble my hands a lot. We are very much looking forward to our first Christmas with him!
On that note, I will sign off this year’s final Siblings post. 2018 sees Busby going into her second term, and then second year of school! H-Bear turning three and starting preschool next September, and probably a fair few more adventures.
A huge thank you to the lovely Siblings Project Team for hosting another wonderful year!
