This month’s Siblings photos were taken on Withernsea beach on New Year’s Day. We’d not visited Withernsea before, but fancied a change from Filey and Hornsea.
Growing up in Brighton, with the beach as my garden, made me appreciate how beautiful living by the sea is in all seasons. But I especially love the seaside in winter; the dramatic waves, the whipping wind and the lack of people appeals greatly.
It was biting cold on the beach, but all the better for blasting away the cobwebs!
We had a wonderful remainder of December. Busby’s birthday was fab, Christmas was magical (especially Christmas Eve) and Bertie’s first walk on Boxing Day was incredibly muddy! Both children were in full Christmas excitement mode this year, which was glorious to behold. Christmas is definitely more magical with children.
Busby only went back to school last week, and H-Bear, Bertie and I have loved having her at home. It’s been rather good this holiday, as they’ve played nicely together… most of the time! H-Bear has enjoyed playing dress up with Busby, and there has been an awful lot of
bossing around playing ‘teacher’.
H-Bear has truly become a two year old in the past month… There have been tantrums, daily struggles for independence and a fair amount of foot stamping. We’ve also taken the bars off his cot, which has been a mixed success as he’s taken to waking up in the middle of the night most nights again. I have everything crossed that this will pass swiftly!
We don’t have too much planned for the rest of January, other than dog walks! We’ve been exploring our local area and having some wonderful walks with our latest addition – Bertie the cockapoo. He’s definitely helping us get out of the house more!
I’m so glad that Siblings is back for another year – and I can’t wait to share 2018 with you all.
