I love a good food festival. There were always fantastic weekend ones on Hove Lawns (seemingly every weekend) when we lived in Brighton. Pre-children, we would slowly make our way down mid-morning after a glorious lie-in, and wander around the stalls – trying lots of different foods.
I’m not sure we’ve been to a food festival since having the children… I imagine it would be a completely different experience!
We’re off to the Lake District in October, and Cockermouth often has a wonderful food festival running. I’m hoping we might be able to pop along as we’ll be going away with lots of family who could potentially watch the children while we munch away on amazing cheese and Lake District fare!
Knowing how unpredictable the weather can be in the Lakes, I’ve been perusing the Chums website in search of cosy knits and coats.
Sadly the Chums website is lacking in yellow rain macs, but I quite like this Toggle Fastening Jacket, which would be great for unexpected showers.
For Nick, I rather like the look of the Pegasus Fleece Lined Zipper coat, which screams country! It would fit in very well at a Lake District food festival! And how fab would it look teamed with wellies and a pair of jeans? It looks like an ace dog walking jacket too – lots of pockets for Bertie’s things.
The Pegasus Shetland Cable Sweater also looks very cosy – and if he had it in mustard, I would totally borrow it too!
A good pair of wellies or walking boots would also be on my essential list for surviving a slightly soggy food festival. Although I have everything crossed that the weather won’t be too bad in October… and that we’ll be able to enjoy lots of time outside.
