Keeping your children active is a great way to keep them happy and healthy. Letting them run around play and try out new activities keeps them engaged and exercises their bodies. Plus, it makes it more likely they will go to bed a bit earlier and sleep soundly (which is always a bonus!).
Of course, staying active is good for us adults too. It is always nice to be able to join in and play with your kids, which means you need to wear the right clothes. You need items that look good, but still allow you plenty of freedom of movement, while also protecting your modesty. Fortunately, as you will see, finding what you need is not going to be hard in 2018. Many of the new trends are suitable for active mums.
Jumpsuits and playsuits
It has been a while, but jumpsuits have come back into fashion. They are not for everyone, but it is always worth trying one. If you click here, you will be taken to a page full of jumpsuits and playsuits. Most of which are perfect for active mums.
Pumps are a particularly comfortable style of shoe. They are flat, so are ideal for walking, playing football or enjoying other high energy activities. Plus, they look good with shorts, jeans, leggings or chinos. At a pinch, you can even wear them with a denim skirt or casual dress.
A lightweight cardigan or jumper
In the spring, when the weather is variable it is always a good idea for everyone to have a jumper or cardigan with them. A lightweight one can easily be stuffed in a backpack and donned if it turns cool. It will not be too bulky to wear under a coat and will not restrict your freedom of movement too much.
Cotton is great for regulating your body temperature. If the day turns out hotter than expected a cotton t-shirt will wick sweat away from the skin, thus helping everyone to stay fresh and cool. They are especially handy in the spring when you are never 100% sure what the weather will do. You can easily pop them on under a shirt. Should it warm up, later, the t-shirt can be worn on its own.
Lightweight waterproof coats
It is always worth taking a lightweight waterproof coat with you on spring days out. If they are also windproof that is even better. That way a bit of light rain or wind will not stop you from being able to enjoy yourselves.
Having these items in your wardrobe should mean that if you wake up and the sun is shining you are good to go. You should not have to waste time going shopping before you can pack everyone into the car and take them to your local wildlife park or beach.
Keep an activity bag packed and ready to go
You will also find this “days out checklist” handy. It covers important items like power packs, sunglasses, hats, sun protection and a towel. Stuff that you can easily pack into a bag and leave in the car or your garage. That way when the children fancy an active day out, all you need to do is get changed and grab the bag.
