Nick and I got married on a beautiful day in September 2014, in the Sussex village I spent part of my childhood growing up in… and wow, a lot has happened since then! We’ve been so busy relocating to Yorkshire, growing our family and redecorating the house that having our wedding photos printed hasn’t really been a priority.
So when Ella from Ella’s Books got in touch with me a few weeks ago and asked whether we’d be interested in one of her beautiful albums, I couldn’t wait to sit down and have a look through the photos from our big day again.
Our amazing wedding photographer – Emma Lucy – did such an incredible job of capturing our wedding and it was such a pleasure to revisit the photos from the day! Nick and I sat and whittled the photos down from over 1000 to 200 for the book.
Then we sent them off to Ella via WeTransfer for her to work her magic!
Ella decided that the ‘Dove’ book would work best with our photos, and she sent lots of proofs over whilst she worked on the book to make sure we were on the same wavelength.
We have lots of photos from the wedding that need to be printed big because they are just so beautiful. The ‘Dove’ book is perfect for this, as it’s a lay-flat book meaning the image flows wonderfully across a double page spread without losing visibility down the centre of the spine.
Nick and I had such a lovely time pouring over each page when the album arrived; reminiscing and remembering each moment. It’s also been wonderful to look through with Busby (who was there, but only about 20 months old) and H-Bear (who was only a twinkle in our eyes). We spent a Saturday morning in bed together as a family, talking about the wedding and answering ALL the questions!
One of the things I love most about the album is the personalised illustration on the first page. As well as creating these gorgeous books, Ella is also an illustrator by trade, and she really summed ‘us’ up with her gorgeous illustration! I’m definitely going to be asking her to do my next header for the website once Bun has arrived!
The quality of the book is absolutely outstanding. The images are crisp, the paper is wonderfully thick and it is such a joy to look through. It would make a truly fabulous wedding gift or birthday present for someone special – it’s definitely something Nick and I will cherish for the rest of our lives; thank you so much Ella!
Prices start from £250 for the ‘Dove’ book. You can find out more on the Ella’s Books website (which is a treat in itself to peruse – it’s so beautiful!).
