I’m beginning to wonder whether Busby has inherited my love for shoes… or perhaps I’m just transferring my shoe obsession onto her? Either way, I was rather happy when Clarks got in touch and asked us to pick out a pair of boots for Busby to review.
We’ve been in Yorkshire for a whole week now, and it has flown by! I don’t think the impending arrival of Christmas is helping matters… and the fact that I haven’t really got much sorted for the festive season… nor for Busby’s 2nd birthday. Why does time always speed up when you have lots to prepare?? These things have a funny way of sorting themselves out though – so I’m sure I’ll be feeling better about it all soon! Fingers crossed!
Nevertheless, following the craziness of the move we had a semi-relaxing week, which you can read about here.
This weekend has been truly lovely, now that we are starting to feel settled and the sun (finally) decided to make an appearance.
One of the big reasons we made the huge decision to relocate up here from Sussex was space – both inside and out. Being able to roam outside is really important to us as a family, and with a curious toddler it does wonders for my sanity! None of the properties we rented in Brighton had a garden, and our garden in Lewes was a patch of grass, precariously placed at the top of some rather dangerous, fatal-looking steps… so when we begin our house hunt early next year, a decent sized garden is high up on the list of requirements (as well as a good sized kitchen sans slugs!).
We’re staying with Nick’s parents until we find our house, and Busby has already settled in.
One of her favourite activities is to feed the garden birds, so we’ve been dutifully taking our breakfast scraps out to the bird table every morning (come rain or shine) to make sure the birds are also well fed this winter. [Read more…]
A few weeks ago, the lovely folk at House of Fraser got in touch asking whether I’d be interested in choosing Busby some new toys from their online collection. With the move looming in the very near future and the weather having taken a turn for the worse I nodded profusely, and spent most of nap time excitedly to choosing some new items for her toy box.
Busby is a huge fan of sheep, so when Olive & Moss gifted her this gorgeous dress and these wonderful tights from their lovely range of clothes, she couldn’t wait to try them on… (in fact, she loved them so much that she didn’t want to take them off at bath time!)
Well here we are at 23 months! It’s hard to believe that Busby will be two in just one month!
This month Busby has most certainly become more cunning! She has somehow worked out that if she doesn’t get her own way with one adult, then she can turn her charm on the other adult in the room (a smile and sweet tone to her voice) and try her luck there. It’s very cheeky, and usually produces much laughter from us! [Read more…]
