One more week to go until my 12 week scan! Very exciting! I am hoping and praying that I’ll stop feeling sick at 12 weeks too… I’m so fed up of feeling like this; I have no energy for anything, despite eating like a horse!
Peppercorn is the size of a fig, and apparently is busy kicking and stretching… I wonder whether he’ll be an awkward squirmer at the scan like Busby was??
I had my Booking Appointment this week and met the Midwife who will be looking after me during this pregnancy; she was lovely and is a big fan of home births, so she was excited to hear that I’m considering a home birth this time round… Although it completely depends on where we are – I’m not sure Nick’s parents (and neighbours) would appreciate me mooing at 2am in the morning and proceeding to ruin their carpets! The Midwife Led Unit in Pontefract looks really wonderful; they have a birthing pool and you have your own Midwife 1:1 for the whole of your labour, which sounds ideal really. This pregnancy and labour is about me being in control – about listening to my body and not freaking out (too much).
This week I’ve been craving doughnuts… thank you Wakefield and your freshly baked doughnut stall! I’ve also been eating lots of yoghurt, bananas and porridge. I’ve had an odd craving for primula on ryvitas – which is something I ate a lot of in my early twenties – so I find it funny that I’m desperate for a taste of the salty cheese in a tube! I introduced Busby to primula this week as well, and she loved it!
I’ve been able to drink tap water again, which has pleased me greatly as my skin has been suffering without it… Although I can’t seem to drink it first thing in the morning, it has to be after lunch. I’m still not back on tea *sob!*

Pregnancy cravings can be so random. I once woke up at 4am when expecting my son craving for potato salad. I don’t even like potato salad, and until then, had never prepared any. So I found myself googling and browsing the internet for potato salad recipes when everybody else was sleeping.
I have been all about the cheese and salt this pregnancy as well! Sounds like you have some great birth options where you are x
Im loving these posts, Although they are making me very broody! Im glad your midwife is nice and supports home births, thats the route I would like to go down for baby number two! I went off tea and coffee for the whole of pregnancy with Oliver, it was very odd!
