Hello! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you had a wonderful week?
The rules for #TWTWC are simple; link up one post about your week! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!
Last week
I really enjoyed this post from Jenna (Tiny Footsteps); she made me feel very festive – and met a reindeer, which is pretty awesome!
Jo (Jo’s Nursery) had me salivating this week over some of her photos – my appetite is very impressionable at the moment, and the photo of her meatballs developed a new craving!
Finally, Katie (Doing a lot with a little) always has me feeling very festive, and this week was no different! She also met a reindeer… and had a surprisingly easy Christmas tree shopping experience with her Mum!
Our week
This is the week where I was finally able to announce our pregnancy!! Keeping it a secret has been complete torture for an oversharer like me, especially when I’ve been feeling so rubbish and have been boring you all to death with my “I’ve been feeling under the weather” updates. Snore!
We went to choose our Christmas tree on Sunday, which was a lovely experience! We’ve got a beautiful 7ft giant joining the Harding household this year… Busby and I had lots of fun at the garden centre while Nick took it back to the house; we discovered some very random rides, and she loved dancing under the disco lights in the light tent! We spent the afternoon making more mince pies.
Monday was a very exciting day, as we had our dating scan! We got to meet Peppercorn (via screen) for the first time, and Busby was over the moon. She kept pointing at the screen saying “Baby! Baby!”
Busby and I had a very lazy day on Tuesday.
Nick’s parents arrived back from Australia on Wednesday, and Busby was very excited to see them after two months! I made us all a roast dinner and we had a lovely catch up.
Busby and I headed into Leeds on Thursday to start Christmas shopping (I know, I know). It wasn’t the best of days with a few epic toddler tantrums, and me feeling very lost. The whole experience was made even worse when Busby dropped the sacred Flopsy bunny on the train platform, which I only discovered once we were on the train, and I stupidly jumped off the train to get her… the train doors closed, and I thought the train was going to leave without me and with Busby! Luckily the conductor saw me and ushered me through her door and onto the train as it left the station… I spent the train journey back to Wakefield sobbing, with Busby laughing, totally oblivious to what had just happened! Not an experience I want to repeat. Nick’s parents took us out for cake and hot chocolate once we were back in Wakefield, which helped immensely.
Friday was another lazy day around the house. I took Busby for a walk to the post box with the intention of her napping – which worked!
We had a wonderfully festive day on Saturday; we decorated the Christmas tree, which Busby loved doing (although as I type this she’s trying to play with some of the lower baubles…)!! Then we got takeaway in the evening and snuggled up with the gorgeous smell of pine in the air.
What have you been up to this week?
Hannah
What a lovely week! Well, apart from the train thing- that must have been horrible. Love your little tummy photo though- they say you always show faster with your second! Xx

Thank goodness for observant train conductors! Very glad to hear your week was (mostly) stress free and very festive xxx
Fantastic news and well done on keeping it quiet for so long! Hope all goes well. I announced mine this time last year, what a difference a year makes.x
Your little bump is gorgeous. I keep bumping mine off things and I feel like a blue whale but you look gorgeous:) Busby and her book are adorable
Oh gosh, that whole train scenario sounds awful - glad the conductor saw what happened.
Congratulations on baby no.2 - must’ve be so, so hard to keep it a secret.
Jenna at Tinyfootsteps xx
Congratulations!!!!! That train incident sounds terrifying! I honestly have nightmares about that sort of thing happening. So glad it turned out okay though. The rest of your week sounds lovely.
Eek! The train story! But glad it was all made better by cake and hot chocolate afterwards!
I had a sneaking suspicion you were pregnant. Congratulations, again! So exciting!!
Congratulations again Hannah (I love the little bump picture on your blog header). That must of been so scary on the train, thank goodness for the train conductor and cake! Busby is such a stylish toddler!
