Review // Cosatto Supa Pushchair in Flamingo Fling

We’ve been the very proud (and smug) owners of our colourful Cosatto Supa in Flamingo Fling for just over a month now, so I think it’s time to share our thoughts with you!

First thoughts?

The Supa was very quick to put together – if you discount the time spent trying to get the Toddler to remove herself from the pushchair because she was so desperate to get in and try it out – taking 20 minutes to install fully (including Cosy Toes)! The only part I found frustrating was trying to get the harness back together once I’d put on the chest pads and Cosy Toes, as it was rather fiddly. Once it was assembled I spent a good 30 minutes just marvelling at its awesomeness and beauty!

The Good
Very colourful and stylish. The first thing that I loved about the FF Supa was the design; I’m a huge fan of flamingoes (even having a Pinterest board dedicated to the cause), so I knew I had to have this pushchair as soon as I saw it!
It’s very colourful, some might say too colourful, but I love it! It’s quite a feminine pushchair; Nick always opts for our Giggle New Wave when taking Busby out alone, as it’s a little too vibrant for him. But if you’re a confident Mama, who loves colour then this design is certainly for you. The flamingoes are everywhere – even on the wheels, and Busby has great fun pointing them out.

Easy to fold. Once you know how, the Supa is very easy to fold down! It’s compact too, with a chassis lock, and an incredibly useful handle for carrying when folded.
It can also stand when folded, which is great if you’re waiting for a taxi/bus and don’t want to put the whole pushchair on the wet ground. It’s also handy for storage!

Lightweight. On the subject of carrying the Supa, it’s very lightweight (it’s won awards for this don’t you know!) weighing in at 8kg – so less than a Toddler!

Reclining seat for naps. One of my favourite features of the FF Supa is the reclining seat for naps. It is so easy to change the position once your child is asleep by gently compressing the button at the back of the pushchair.

It’s a seamless transition, without having to fiddle around the front of the pushchair and disturb sleep. The seat reclines all the way back too, so your little one can have a good snooze lying down. The head hugger makes a lovely pillow too.

Changing seat position. In fact, changing the seat position in both directions is very easy! You just need to pull the seat into a sitting direction once your child is awake again.

Extending canopy. Another one of my favourite features is the extending canopy. It’s been absolutely perfect this winter in Yorkshire, with the low sun and strong winds. It has kept Busby well protected from the harsh weather.

My only criticism is that is it quite noisy when extending, and if Busby is asleep, this can disturb her – especially if we’re in the middle of the countryside and all is quiet!
The inside of the canopy is also very beautiful – I wouldn’t mind staring up at this view whilst being pushed around!

Comfy. The FF Supa looks to be incredibly comfy. It received the Busby snooze seal of approval on our maiden voyage, and she has been snoozing in it ever since!

Extending handle bars. Nick and I like to have our handle bars at different heights, so I was very pleased to find that you can adjust the handle bar height with a simple click of a button!

Spyhole. One of the things I miss most when using our Giggle pushchair is being able to spy on Busby; I like to make sure she’s safe while we trot along on our adventures. I was very happy to see the addition of a spyhole in the Supa pushchair, and it has proved very handy!
Secret pocket. Sometimes, now Busby is older, I don’t want to take a huge changing bag out with me – especially if we’re just nipping to the post box, so I was happy to find the secret pocket in the cover of the Supa. It’s the perfect size for keys, a phone, a purse and any cards you might be posting! It has a handy internal pouch for the multimedia speaker too, if you wish to play your child some music as you walk… (as you’ll see below, I’m not quite sure why you’d want to do this.)

The brake. The brake works very well (if sometimes a little too well!), and is nice and easy to push down to lock, and push up to unlock. 

Lockable front swivel wheels. These are a fantastic feature as we walk on lots of different terrain – being able to switch between the two has been wonderful.

Cup holder. I love a cup holder, and this one fits of both sides of the Supa.

The Bad  (well, I wouldn’t go that far)
Huge raincover. I love a good raincover, and the FF Supa comes with a BEAST of a raincover. In fact it’s so big that I’ve considered using it as a poncho… but there-in lies the problem: if you want to use your shopping basket then you can’t take the raincover with you.
I’ve also found that Busby finds it quite easy to kick off, as it doesn’t quite cover the end of the pushchair when there’s a toddler sat in it. I like that it completely covers the back of the pushchair – so if you have anything precious in the pocket, it will remain dry.

The basket. The basket is a good size, and I managed to get a fair amount of Christmas shopping in it during December. However, it’s not the most accessible shopping basket I’ve ever come across (especially when the seat is fully reclined) and as I’ve mentioned above, if you want to take your raincover with you, for those British days where it might rain, then you might as well not have a shopping basket.

The Cosy Toes. The Cosy Toes is very cosy and is reversible 4 ways; each side having a different design, which is fantastic! However, I’ve found that it is quite small. Busby isn’t a tall child at 2, and her feet already touch the bottom of the Cosy Toes.

Adjustable calf support. Another great feature, but if your child is already sat in the pushchair it’s not easy to adjust with the weight of their legs on the lower part of the chair. Unfortunately, this is usually when I’d like to adjust the support…

The Ugly
Internal tablet pocket. I just don’t get it. Obviously this has been a popular feature because it’s been in the canopy for a few years now, but surely, surely, if you’re taking your child for a walk they should be watching the world, not a screen?? It’s not my cup of tea at all.

Anything to add?
The Flamingo Fling Supa is going to be ideal for Spring and Summer this year, and I can see it thriving as a pushchair in a warmer climate. If Busby were smaller then it would be great for Winter too, but due to the small Cosy Toes and the kick-offable raincover, it hasn’t always been practical to use. I envisage using it lots once Peppercorn arrives, as the Supa can be used from birth (although I’m not sure Busby will want to share it…!!!)

I’ve found that the Cosatto Supa has been fantastic for walks in the village we’re currently staying in, as the paths next to the road are very narrow – the compact Supa has tackled the pavements well (tree stumps and all), and I’ve been really happy that the weight of the pushchair hasn’t caused me pain whilst trying to angle up awkward paths.

The Supa is also a great pushchair if you’re looking for something compact, lightweight and nippy to keep in the back of your car for quick trips into town; it doesn’t take up the boot space of a travel system, and it’s swift and easy to assemble at the other end.
