Busby // Baking

I haven’t blogged about our new (but still pending) house much, as haven’t wanted to curse the sale, or get too excited as I did last time with the house that fell through… We’re taking Busby to see it today for the first time, and I can’t wait to see her reaction! What I will say about the house, is that it has an amazing kitchen. In fact it’s Nick and I’s dream kitchen (almost – it’s just missing the AGA), and after our appalling kitchen in Lewes, we cannot wait to get stuck in and make!

Oh, and it has a pull-out pantry. Oooh yes!

We both love hosting dinner parties, and this isn’t something we could do in our last house, so we can’t wait to have friends up from Sussex and West Yorkshire for the weekend, and make new friends in East Yorkshire, just so we can cook for them!

Busby has caught our baking bug, and one of her favourite activities is to “mix mix”. Baking with a Toddler can be a little bit testing at times – especially as she likes to put her hand on the scales and eat flour from the bowl – but it’s great fun, and we’ve really been enjoying making together!

As you can see, Busby’s favourite part of baking is the tasting of the batter, and licking out the bowl… I rather agree with her on this!

Once we’ve moved, we’re a bit more settled, and we’ve finally got our Kitchen Aid Mixer out of the box, (best Christmas present EVER, well, other than our darling daughter that is!) I’ll be launching my new food section on the blog – this is something I’ve wanted to do for years now, but we’ve never had the kitchen or space to do it, so I can’t wait to start sharing our foodie love with you all!

Busby definitely has the right idea - licking the bowl is the best bit. I will look forward to the food section. I am hopeless in the kitchen but would like to get better! Your new kitchen sounds fantastic! I love Kitchen Aid Mixers! What colour do you have?

Ah I love those pics! It was actually a photo on instagram of Busby joining in with baking that spurred me on to try it with M more often too. It can indeed be a testing experience, but I’m glad we’re doing stuff like this together. Looking forward to seeing your foodie section when it goes live!

Oh I’m totally with you on the KitchenAid love, my red one arrived for Christmas and it might also have been one of my best Christmas presents ever! It’s red and it’s beautiful and I think I hugged it for 10 minutes after I unwrapped it! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing your new kitchen and all the lovely new things to bake!

I hope your house goes well, and look forward to the cooking section. Certainly seems that your little one has the right idea, licking the spoon is always best.

I admire Busby’s dedication to spoon-licking. That girl definitely has her priorities straight. I hope all the house stuff is going ok- I’ve just started the process again myself and had forgotten how horribly stressful it is! xxx
