Review // The Original Theraline Maternity & Nursing Pillow

At 22 weeks pregnant, snoozing is starting to get more than a little uncomfortable at night! The hourly toilet trips haven’t started yet, but my bump is getting bigger and heavier, and I’m finding it more and more difficult to find a sleeping position that works for both bump and I. As you can imagine, I was very happy (and a little bit excited) when my very own Original Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow arrived!

I’ve (more like we’ve – as you’ll read below) been testing out the pillow for three weeks now, and I can honestly say, I’m not sure how I managed without this fantastic product when I was pregnant with Busby!
The Original Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow a long, sausage-cum-v-shaped pillow which is filled with micro beads; this makes it easily malleable and very flexible. It’s ideal for bump support when lying on your side in pregnancy, and means your tired muscles and bones can relax and feel more comfortable. The best position I’ve found so far is lying on my side, with some of the pillow between my legs, and the rest supporting my bump, with my face resting on the top.

I’ve also discovered that it’s great for stopping you rolling onto your back in the night! Pre-pregnancy, sleeping on my back was my most comfortable position, and I often find myself waking up at 3am on my back, so this has been a fantastic help.

The Original Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow is going to be ideal for breastfeeding, and once again I wish I’d had this when Busby first arrived, as I’m sure I would have found positioning in breastfeeding much easier. The flexible bead filling moulds itself to your body, creating a safe platform for babies.

The pillow has been great for supporting my lower back in bed when working and reading, as well as other members of our family! Busby loves relaxing on it when she’s in our bed, and we cocoon ourselves up in it when it’s just the two of us in bed. I’ve had to ask Nick for the pillow back more than once when I’ve come into the room, as he also likes using it to read in bed!

Both parts of the pillow are washable at 60˚C, which is excellent news for getting rid of tea spills (pre-baby) and spit-ups/general newborn accidents. The outer cover unzips and should be washed inside out. Also, as a side note, I love the colour of the outer cover – which is a beautiful turquoise; there are lots of designs and colours to choose from.

Overall, we all love the Original Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow! It’s the perfect pregnancy and breastfeeding product, and I would heartily recommend it to any Mama looking for extra comfort in the later months of pregnancy. The Original Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow costs £44.95 and is available to buy on the Theraline website.
