The Week That Was: Captured #82

Hallo! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you had a lovely week?

The rules for #TWTWC are simple; link up one post about your week! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!

Last week
I really loved Chelle’s (The Mumington Post) post from last week – the photos of her Husband and Froglet made me “squee” (yes, that is the technical term) and it’s so wonderful to see the siblings together… It’s making me excited for what’s to come!
Jenna’s (Tiny Footsteps) post from last week was just gorgeous – she made her daughter Jasmine a fantastic sensory tunnel out of a cardboard box, which is such a great idea, and it looked like she loved it!
Cathy’s (Jack’s Paper Moon) was full of gorgeous photos as usual, but I especially loved the photoshoot she conducted with baby Noah and her Husband. It was utterly gorgeous, and such a beautiful thing to be able to look back on in years to come!

Our week
This week has been mostly lovely… although a little dramatic towards the end! Busby and I visited Sussex, which was wonderful and made me feel more than a little homesick!

We had a quiet day on Sunday as Monday was going to be very busy. I was craving Jelly Babies, so we popped to the shop and went through the carwash… as you can see, it was an exciting day!

Busby and I headed down to Sussex on Monday. The platform we needed to catch the train to Haywards Heath from at St Pancras was flooded, so I had to lug a very heavy suitcase and a very tired Busby down onto the underground to go to Victoria. It was a nightmare, and almost involved me dropping both Busby and the suitcase down the escalator at Victoria (thank you lack of lifts)… One panic attack later and we finally made it onto the train to Haywards Heath, where my Mutti met us on the platform. Busby was amazing the whole journey and did so much walking, as the lifts at St Pancras are miles away from everything!

Mutti, Busby and I went down to Brighton on Tuesday and met my Aunt for lunch at Jamie’s Italian. The food was delicious, and we had a great catch up! We had a wander around the shops after lunch, and I bought Busby her first Cath Kidston bag (I’m starting her early!).

The weather was a bit miserable on Wednesday, so our initial plan to visit Nymans was called off. We had a relaxed morning around the house until I desperately wanted a baked camembert, so we trotted to Sainsbury’s to indulge the craving. We visited my Grandparents in the afternoon for a cup of tea. My best friend came round in the evening, and we headed to the Italian restaurant in Lindfield for a very delicious meal and a catch up. Sadly I experienced a small bleed when I got home, so was awake for a lot of the night, monitoring the situation.

Busby was awake early on Thursday, and I was feeling fairly shattered after a restless night worrying about the baby. Nonetheless, I didn’t want to cancel our plans for the day, as we were going over to Lewes to see Busby’s bestie and her lovely Mama for lunch and a playdate. We visited my Grandpa first for a cup of tea, and then headed to Bill’s for lunch! It hit me on Thursday how much I miss Lewes and our life there. I know we have to build our new life up here now, and the house buy is progressing etc, but hearing about life going on without us there was pretty hard. The girls absolutely loved seeing each other again, and I had to hold back the tears when they said goodbye.

Friday saw us return to Yorkshire. Mutti joined us all the way to Kings Cross, as I’d had another small bleed on Thursday afternoon, and I was worried that I might over-stretch myself again. I was so thankful for her help! Luckily the journey was easy this time, and Nick’s parents met us on the platform at Wakefield. It was lovely to be back and to see Nick that evening (it’s the longest we’ve been apart in a very long time), but I was completely shattered by the time evening fell, and missing Sussex once again.

Peppercorn’s movements had been getting less and less during the week, and accompanied with the bleeds, I decided to visit the hospital on Saturday morning to make sure everything was ok. The Midwife was fantastic, and everything was fine. Phew! As I type this, I’m tucked up in bed on Saturday afternoon feeling utterly drained, but very happy that I can now relax.

Huge apologies – my badge is still being pesky and I haven’t had a chance to sort it out this week – it is under construction for now, as the template keeps reformatting the quotation marks in the code from straight to curly (geeky snore) Please let me know on Twitter if you’d like me to email the badge through to you…!

What a scare you had. I am so glad everything was ok. I had bleeding on and off during the start of my pregnancy and had a few extra scans - they could never work out why. It must be so tough feeling homesick 🙁 Hopefully once you are moved into your new home and settled it will become a little easier. Love all the cravings & dashes to the supermarket! Oh and love that Busby had her first CK bag!
    Thanks for hosting x

Goodness, what a week! Sounds like Busby was so well behaved! I hate trains and small people, it makes me start to sweat and the thought of having to do it gives me the shakes! Lovely photos xxx

Oh, the lifts on transport in London are SOO annoying, aren’t they? Well done to Busby for being such a good traveller. Glad that Peppercorn is doing okay too - take it easy this week! You deserve a break! 🙂

Oh my Gosh, I am so glad everything is ok. Bleeds are the scariest things during pregnancy! Glad you had a good week despite all that happening!

Oh I hate that transfer at Victoria station. I’ve done it with luggage loads of times (but never a baby) and it really is a nightmare. Why no lifts? Terrible! I’m glad the baby is doing well, you are almost half-way done now!

Thanks so much for the mention.

Remember, you can call in my offer of sensory tunnel anytime! 🙂

Other than my own linky, TWTWC is my favourite - I look forward to it every week.
