The Week That Was: Captured #84

Howdy! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you had a wonderful week?

The rules for #TWTWC are simple; link up one post about your week! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!

Last week
I really enjoyed reading Amanda’s (City Girl Gone Coastal) post last week. It sounded like she had a fabulous time with her Husband during his week off, and her pictures of the sunrise were gorgeous!
Gillian (These Little Lights) experienced my ULTIMATE DREAM WEEK last week by visiting London and seeing LOTS of musicals! As a musical theatre nut I really enjoyed her post, and feel inspired to find the film version of Once.
Kate’s (Kate+) photos really stood out for me this week – she has so much beautiful light in them, and I always enjoy looking at her snaps!

Our week
Sunday saw the start of our Babymoon! Nick and I headed to Harrogate for lunch and visited Jamie’s Italian – a fabulous start to our mini-break. We called in at a few of the shops, and then drove to our final destination for the next two nights: The Devonshire Arms. After a relaxing afternoon, we got ready for dinner and went downstairs to The Burlington for our 8 course tasting menu. It was delicious!

1. Why are children especially gorgeous just as you’re about to leave them for a few days?? (Sunday) // 2. Sexy food (Sunday) // 3. Turning 21 weeks pregnant! (Monday) // 4. Sunrise from our hotel room (Monday)

Nick and I spent the day in the swimming pool and spa on Monday. We had a light lunch (after a very tasty breakfast and wander around Bolton Abbey) and then I had my pregnancy massage, which Nick had kindly booked me. We ate dinner in the brasserie, and I encountered one of the best (and most epic) cheeseboards I’ve ever had… and I’ve had a few!

Sadly we had to head back to reality on Tuesday morning as had an appointment back in Pontefract with the antenatal consultant. It was an unnecessarily frustrating appointment. Nick and I took Busby to the park in the afternoon; it was lovely to see her again.

5. Posing at Bolton Abbey (Monday) // 6. Goodbye cosy fires! (Tuesday) // 7. Back to this Munchkin (Tuesday) // 8. Everybody needs a bump for a pillow (Wednesday)

Busby and I had a very lazy day on Wednesday as she’d been up in the night for 3 hours, and prior to that I’d been on the phone to the maternity triage department worried about Bump.

We were a bit more active on Thursday! Busby and I visited the park for an hour or so in the afternoon, which was lots of fun. Nick felt Peppercorn move for the first time – which you can read about here.

Friday was a great day, as we met lovely Jenny from KyNa Boutique and her son, Hugo, for lunch at Pizza Express. It was wonderful to catch up and spend time with a Mama friend! Busby and Hugo took a shine to each other after an initial shy period, and gave each other a lovely smooch when we said bye!

9. Our awesome new pram (Thursday) // 10. Smiley! (Friday) // 11. Lunch date (Friday) // 12. Our geeky cards! (Saturday)

We had a lovely family day on Saturday! After a morning of eating pancakes (honestly, I spent an hour just eating them, with Nick just putting another on my plate as soon as I finished one… he’s a gem!) we headed to Yorkshire Sculpture Park for a walk around. Busby had lots of fun puddle jumping! We had lunch there, and then returned home via Blackerhall Farm to pick up something for dinner. I’ve compiled a wonderful assortment of cheese for our post-dinner cheeseboard – they’re all English cheeses and I’m very excited! We’re spending the post-Toddler-bedtime evening watching Thor and eating cheese. Epic!

13. Fun at YSP! (Saturday)

What have you been up to this week?
