One word to sum up this week? Dizzy! After the almost-fainting incident from last week I’ve been feeling super dizzy this week too. I had another doctor’s appointment on Tuesday, and my blood pressure was a bit low so she booked me in for a blood test to check my iron levels etc. I should hear back on Monday if there’s anything wrong. Eating seems to help, so perhaps it has something to do with my blood sugar levels? Busby and I both have to carry snacks around now!
This week Peppercorn weighs about the same as a swede or turnip, and should be around 35cm long. This means he’s grown 5cm in the last week, which would explain why I’ve been so exhausted and hungry! I’ve been eating like a gannet!
My bump has definitely grown this week, and I think it’s fascinating comparing how I’m carrying Peppercorn to how I carried Busby when I was pregnant with her; it’s definitely a rounder, neater bump and it’s all out front. Nick says you can’t tell I’m pregnant from the back!
I had my initial CBT consultation on Thursday, which went well. The therapist was lovely and very understanding, so that made me feel more positive. I will have to be re-referred by the doctor when we move again in a few weeks as we’re moving to a different county, but they’re going to try and see me as much as possible before then and, as I’m pregnant, I’m a priority so the referral shouldn’t take too long at the other end.
Once again I’ve been eating lots of cherry tomatoes this week. Cucumber has been added to my craving list too. I had a day off tea after making a cup and instantly feeling like I might be sick, but I seem to be back on it again now… Phew! I think exhaustion played a part that day (and thank goodness for salt and vinegar crisps). I also came to the conclusion that Reese’s Peanut Butter cups are probably the best thing you can eat in pregnancy; the peanut butter is full of protein, eating peanut butter in pregnancy can help prevent peanut allergies for baby, and chocolate is full of calcium and iron. Oh, and let’s not forget the endorphins released when you munch on chocolate!
I seem to have developed an allergy to my wedding and engagement rings over the past few weeks. Initially I thought it was eczema, but after another night of being woken up by a hot, itchy finger and having to take them off at 2am, I did some research (good ol’ Dr. Google) and discovered that it’s actually quite common to suddenly become allergic to metals. Apparently white gold can contain nickel to make it more shiny, and this is what is reacting with my skin. I’m hoping this might cure itself postpartum… otherwise we might have to go ring shopping for a couple of platinum beauties!
25 weeks has been pretty uneventful otherwise. He’s still happily kicking away for me, but hates an audience so tends to stop if I point him out… Mummy is the only audience he seems to want; he’s a Mama’s boy already!

Oh no sorry to hear about the dizziness! I had the exact same a few weeks ago and my midwife blamed blood sugar levels - a perfect excuse to have regular snacks haha xx
I love your justification for Reece’s cups. Definitely going to use that one!
My rings started to give me a funny dry itchy patch on my finger in first trimester, but a few days without them and using lots of moisturiser and it cleared up. Still a little dry but not itchy.
Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling dizzy 🙁 I had this a lot with my twin pregnancy. I was addicted to chocolate and anything sugary! Hope you feel better soon and you’re looking fab 🙂 Jess x
have just come across your blog hun. I’m 17 weeks with my first at the moment so loving reading updates from bloggers a few weeks ahead of me to see what’s in store!
So cute that baby doesn’t like an audience & saves all his kicking for mumma. Can’t wait to be able to feel my little one
xx
So pleased your CBT went well. And my dizziness was due to low blood sugar so defo a good excuse to snack!;-) xx
You have such a beautiful little bump! So glad the CBT is going well. Thanks for linking up to #MaternityMatters x x
Your bump looks lovely - pregnancy really suits you. I was reading thinking wow all of Hannah’s cravings are so healthy then I got to the chocolate! Yay - love the reasoning. I think it’s fine to eat it while breastfeeding too (I say as I sit sneaking an early Easter egg…)
