Howdy there! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you had a wonderful week?
Firstly, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you wonderful Mamas out there! You’re all doing an amazing job, even on the days when you feel like hiding underneath the duvet and eating nothing but chocolate cake. I hope you all have a relaxing day today… I’m hoping I can paint my nails and perhaps have a lie in! No bubbles this year (well, maybe a cheeky glass with dinner)… I shall be making up for this in 3 months time!
The rules for #TWTWC are simple; link up one post about your week (it doesn’t have to be the whole week – it can just be one day, or your weekend)! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!
Last week
Lori’s (Lori and the Caravan) photos were absolutely stunning last week, and I loved reading (and seeing) her son’s amazing new antique bed – it’s stunning!
I really enjoyed Amanda’s (City Girl Gone Coastal) post last week. It was so positive, despite her twins having chicken pox, and it made me smile lots! Lots of beautiful photos of flowers too.
A lovely post from Helen (From Mummy to Mum) last week, with the most adorable St David’s Day outfits! Seriously – they had me squealing with cuteness!
Our week
I found Sunday another hard day; I was feeling really dizzy again in the morning, and then had to say goodbye to my best friend and her Husband who were travelling back to Sussex. I’ll see them in a week, but it’s just very difficult when I’m feeling so down and homesick. Nick took me shopping in the afternoon for some retail therapy and we bought lots of cute baby things, as well as some (very small) treats for me too. He also made the most amazing goats cheese and ham bread ring for dinner – it was DELICIOUS!
Busby and I had a wonderful relaxing day on Monday. We didn’t do much in the morning, but I found myself falling asleep on the sofa after lunch, so decided we’d make some lemon drizzle cupcakes to wake myself up! They were delicious! I also turned 25 weeks pregnant!
I had a Doctor’s appointment early on Tuesday morning. My Doctor is so lovely, and gave me lots of positive reassurance. She took my blood pressure after I told her about my dizzy spells, and it’s a bit low so we’re keeping an eye on that. She booked me in for a blood test too to monitor my iron levels. I spent the rest of the day resisting the urge to nap, and trying to concentrate on work.
Busby and I had another day to ourselves on Wednesday. We relaxed in the morning and baked in the afternoon (more lemon cupcakes as the other ones swiftly disappeared)!
Nick took a carers leave day on Thursday to take me to my initial CBT appointment. The therapist was lovely, and answered all my concerns about moving in a few weeks and how that will work with interruptions etc. I had my bloods taken in the afternoon, and then some neighbours came over for a playdate with their one year old. Busby had to adjust to having a baby around, which was an interesting experiment!
Busby and I met up with lovely Franki and Luca from Little Luca and Me on Friday. We’ve talked online for over two years, so it was wonderful to finally meet!!! We had a great playdate and long ol’ chat, putting the world to rights. Hopefully we can meet up more now we’re in Yorkshire too!
Busby gave us a “lie in” on Saturday (7am) so we were slightly more bright-eyed and bushy tailed than we have been the last few days… We headed into Wakefield in the morning for a family coffee date (we all shared a delicious chocolate cake slice), before Nick headed off for a haircut, and Busby and I had a wander. The afternoon was spent working, preparing for our trip to Sussex next week… and trying to cut Busby’s hair!
I’m going to be down in Sussex for the next 10 days having a bit of a break and enjoying the tropical climate of the South East of England, so I may not get the opportunity to comment on and share your posts from this week – a huge apology in advance for this – BUT I will be flitting around on social media, so please please tag me in your posts when you share on Twitter (as many times as you like!) and I promise I will retweet! There will be a #TWTWC next Sunday for you to link up to, and I’ll be back on form once we return to the cold North. Mwah!
What have you been up to this week?
Hannah
Huge apologies – my badge is still being pesky and I haven’t had a chance to sort it out yet – it is under construction for now, as the template keeps reformatting the quotation marks in the code from straight to curly (geeky snore) Please let me know on Twitter if you’d like me to email the badge through to you…!
Sorry you have still been feeling a little unwell, but at least you went tot eh doctors and they are keeping an eye on you and baby! CBT is fantastic and I am sure will help you lots! Have a wonderful Mothers Day and a wonderful 10 days in the south east, its been glorious weather wise!
I’m very much looking forward to a catch up in person next weekend! yay for Sussex. I think (& very much hope) that once you’re all settled in your new family home you will feel a bit happier as you can create your own environment and things will be more ‘yours’ if that makes sense?
Sorry to hear that you are struggling huni, but seeing the doctor and CBT is a huge step in the right direction. I hope things pick up quickly xx
Pleased all is going well and hope you have a wonderful and relaxing break. xx
Glad the doc is keeping an eye on you. Interesting to see what baby likes to eat.
Have a lovely time in Sussex - I went there for a couple of days this week to visit some friends and family (I’m from Eastbourne originally but have moved across and up slightly to Canterbury). I am enjoying seeing your bump grow but sorry to hear you’re having a rough time with it. I hope the sea air helps a bit. Love xx
Hope you have a lovely, relaxed time back in Sussex. 🙂

Mmm Reese’s Pieces. We’re big Reese’s fans too - as you’ll see from my post this week! Lovely photos, as always 🙂 x
I hope you are fantastic time back in sussex. I’m so glad you have such a supportive doctor and your CBT session went well. Your pregnancy seems to be going by so quickly.
