I started the third trimester this week, and wow have I felt it! Early evening baths with a good book have been my favourite indulgence, and I’ve partaken in a nap or two this week. It’s fair to say that I’ve been feeling rather shattered!
This week Peppercorn is around 38cm long and weighs as much as a cauliflower or aubergine. He’s been enjoying kicking my bladder and hanging out in my lower abdomen which has been fun…!
We ended up in Maternity Triage on Friday night as Peppercorn was being a pickle and I hadn’t felt him move during the day. I spent three hours prior to this lying in bed, drinking ice water and eating sugar, in an attempt to get him going… with no results! The Midwives were amazing – we were seen immediately and strapped up to a foetal monitor. Everything was fine, which as you can imagine was a great relief!!!
I’m very aware that the final countdown is now on and we’re still not in our new house yet… This is making me quite nervous as I want to have Busby set up at Nursery a good few weeks before the baby arrives so she doesn’t feel ousted, as well as something for my nesting instinct to get on with! Oh, and the small matter of meeting the midwives and chatting to them about my decision to have a home birth.
Breathe. Just breathe.
I started enquiring about pregnancy yoga classes this week, as well as Hypnobirthing. I’ve had really positive responses from both ladies I contacted, so I’m ready to start whenever we get the keys to the new house.
I’ve been craving Maltesers, hot cross buns and green juice again this week, and I’ve been very much looking forward to Easter so I can spend the whole day just eating chocolate!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been suffering from a few SPD-like symptoms, such as pain in my groin and down my inner thighs. The pains have been getting progressively worse as the weeks have gone on, and I’m keeping everything crossed that they don’t develop any further. Baths have been amazing to take the weight off, and Nick has been very obliging with massages… I’ve got a pregnancy massage booked in next week, which I’m hoping will help!

Bless you - thank you so much. I’m feeling utterly exhausted but I do love being pregnant 🙂 xxx
Oh what a little pickle of a peppercorn! I’m so glad everything was ok and for all the tiredness you look radiant. Enjoy the pregnancy yoga, I did it with Elma and I was gutted that the times had changed and I couldn’t make it with Pip.

Thanks lovey 🙂 I can’t wait to start! xx
You’re looking amazing, lovely lady. That perfect bump! I’m almost broody. So happy that all was okay with little Peppercorn. It must have been a scary time xx
Time is flying - can’t believe you’re 28 weeks already! I did hypnobirthing with my first baby and it really helped - very relaxing!
Ah, you’re looking so well! Lovely bump. I used hypnobirthing techniques during my second delivery and they really helped. Good luck with it and the yoga.
Glad all was ok with the CTG monitoring- I know only too well how scary it is when they don’t move! I had an anterior placenta last time so that cushioned a lot of the kicks for me. Hope the SPD stays away for you- not long to go now!
