I can’t believe I’m 30 weeks pregnant already! It’s been 10 weeks since we found out that we’re having a boy; that time has flown by…!
This week Peppercorn should be around 40cm and weighs approximately 1.3kg; about the weight of a cabbage. His kicks have been huge this week and I’m a little bit concerned about how big this baby is going to be!!! I’m hoping he hasn’t got the insanely tall male gene from my side of the family…!
I’m getting really excited about the birth now. I gobbled down Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth book a few weeks ago, and have also just finished Mindful Hypnobirthing by Sophie Fletcher. I even used a few “pain” related hypnobirthing techniques at the dentist on Monday, which really helped me focus.
I had a Midwife appointment this week, which was slightly rushed as she was running super late… Nevertheless, I received my whooping cough vaccination (accompanied by a sore arm and red lump for two days – ouch!). Baby’s heartbeat was lovely and strong too. I’m measuring at 32cm, so two weeks ahead, which I thought was rather exciting! I don’t remember being measured when I was pregnant with Busby, so I’m fascinated! This also means that my bump has grown 5cm in 2-3 weeks, which would explain why I’ve been feeling so utterly exhausted (my bloods came back fine).
Nick and I are attending a Home Birth Support Group session on Monday night in our new village. It makes me so happy that they even have one of these groups where we’re moving to! We’ll also meet out Hypnobirthing teacher there (she runs it) and lots of other couples – yay! We should get the keys for the new house next Friday, and I can’t wait to get settled, meet the Midwives and start nesting.
Oh, and if you hadn’t noticed on Instagram, I’ve been all about the milk chocolate digestive biscuits this week!!!

How lovely that you have the group near to your new house! Perfect!
I can’t believe you only have ten weeks to go - it seems to be going so quickly.
xx
I am measuring 4 weeks ahead - I am always ‘too big’ lol. The whooping cough injection really hurt! I hope the house move goes well, how exciting!
Oooooits all getting excited. Try not to worry about size they say your bump usually measures bigger second time because your muscles have already stretched. #MaternityMondays
Your bump is GORGEOUS I deovoured Ina May’s book when we went to Sicily last summer and that was when I truly felt the VBAC was within my reach. So glad you’re still working on the positivity x x
Thanks for linking up to #MaernitYMatters x
