Howdy! Welcome to The Week That Was: Captured! Have you had a wonderful week?
The rules for #TWTWC are simple; link up one post about your week (it doesn’t have to be the whole week – it can just be one day, or your weekend)! It can be photographed, Instagrammed, written, videoed… basically in any format you wish! This linky is about capturing memories and I treat it a bit like an online diary. Please only link up relevant posts. Also, if you fancy commenting on other people’s posts that would be super too – everyone loves a comment!
Last week
I loved this post from 2Little Faces – it was filled with so many gorgeous photos of their adventure to the beach, and with an amazing message and sentiment behind the post; No Tech Sunday! Such a great idea.
I really enjoyed this post from Caraa (Baby Sausages) last week – it sounded like she had such a chilled week with Indie, and her Nursery looked absolutely stunning and left me feeling inspired!
I completely related to Jenna’s (Tiny Footsteps) post about losing Jasmine’s Bunny toy – those of you may remember the crazy tale of me jumping off a train to save Busby’s Flopsy Bunny… It was a traumatic experience, and I know exactly what you went through Jenna!!!!
Our week
After a busy week of redecorating, I was feeling utterly shattered by Sunday, nonetheless we battled on through, stripping more wallpaper (how much more can there be??) I started to feel pretty rubbish towards the end of the day and knew I had reached my limit.
Nick, Busby and I had a day off from the house on Monday – I spent most of the day in bed resting, and Nick took Busby to Nostell Priory for a run around and cake.
We were back at the house on Tuesday, and Nick took an annual leave day. We picked up the sander and spent a small fortune on paint, before ripping up carpets and getting on with more house “stuff”!
Busby was pretty poorly on Wednesday, and I was up in the night with her, so I spent the day cuddling her and administering Calpol rather than redecorating over in East Yorkshire. We had lots of snuggles and even a nap together!
I had to be over in East Yorkshire on Thursday for my Midwife “booking appointment”. I spent the morning painting our bedroom and started on Busby’s room. After a quick lunch in Beverley, I trekked all the way to the community hospital (which in fairness didn’t look that far on Google Maps)… However, I hadn’t factored in being 7.5 months pregnant, the weather suddenly turning rather warm, and a painful onslaught of Braxton Hicks contractions mid-walk. I arrived on time (by some kind of miracle) and was scolded by the various Health Professionals for not getting a taxi! Needless to say I got the bus back to the station…
I barely slept a wink on Thursday night/Friday morning due to very powerful Braxton Hicks; I honestly thought I might be in early labour at one point! I caught a lift over to the house in the morning with Nick, and spent most of the morning sitting in the sunshine in the garden trying to raise the energy to finish painting Busby’s bedroom. I sorted out our internet (hurrah!) and gave my Mum a FaceTime virtual tour of the house, as she’s incapacitated at the moment following an operation on her shoulder and can’t drive up here to see it herself. I planned to have a little lie down after lunch, before painting, but ended up falling asleep for 3ish hours… Oops! Obviously my body needed it!
Nick and I stayed over at the house for the first time on Friday night, so we got cracking early(ish) on Saturday morning. I managed to finish painting Busby’s room, Nick’s Dad got Peppercorn’s Nursery lined and ready to paint, and Nick worked out every muscle in his body sanding all the downstairs floorboards!
A huge thank you to Nick’s parents who have helped us immensely over the past few weeks – both in redecorating and looking after Busby!
Also, thank you to those of you who said they’d help out hosting #TWTWC while I take some maternity leave – sorry I haven’t had a chance to email round yet, but I shall be in touch in the next couple of weeks. Big Toddler snogs!

How far did you walk!!? No wonder you fell asleep for 3ish hours! Your bump is looking gorgeous!! Sounds like the house is coming along nicely!! Congratulations again x
im not surprised you needed that long nap with all the decorating a running around after the little one , house sounds like its coming together though x
Yay for naps! You know what an advocate I am on regular naps… haven’t had one myself for a while sadly… toddlers and newborns don’t often nap at the same time or if they do irs when we’re out of the house!
Glad the house is coming together nicely xx
Oh my word lovely, I do hope you’re getting some rest this week!! All this decorating is so exciting, can’t wait to see the final result! xxx
Wow what a busy week, I hope you get abit more of a rest this week. x
No wonder you took such a long nap on Wednesday - you’ve been so busy! Wow! Don’t do too much - I know the house needs to get done, but your body’s under a lot of strain already. Have a lovely week! (Oh, and Busby’s smooshed up sleeping face is adorable!)
Bless you I would definitely say that you needed that 3 hour nap! It sounds like your all working so hard to get the new house ready, it’s fab that Nicks parents can help you out. I love the photo of a sleeping Busby, so sweet!
Thanks for hosting #TWTWC
Becky xx
Thanks for the mention 🙂
I love reading your posts, it looks like your so busy.
I’ll be linking up my post about my week on Tuesday.
Wow 33 weeks that has flown! I am a believer in resting when you need to during pregnancy and if it means a 3 hour sleep so be it. Make the most of the sleep while you can. Hope you have a good week xx
You are one busy bee, and I need to get my hands on some of those white choco leibniz! I hope your mum’s shoulder gets better soon so she can see your home soon and I hope the Braxton Hicks don’t become a regular feature. Thank you for hosting x
Hope Busby is feeling better and I will now proceed to tell you, like the other Health Professionals did to “TAKE IT EASY” 😉 which I know if you are anything like me, you won’t but I will say it anyway. 😉
Ah love accidental naps hehehehe.. had one this afternoon and I’m not even pregnant!!! hahaha xxx
