Busby’s bedroom is really the only room in the house that is completely finished so far… ok, so maybe not completely finished (is a house ever completely finished??) but it’s almost there!
I had so much fun designing her room (just check out the Pinterest board) and sourcing everything for the cloud and rainbow theme. Her face when she first saw it was priceless!
So it was fate, when the lovely folk at Worlds Apart got in touch a few months ago and asked whether we’d like to review a toddler bed from their range, because as soon as I found the HelloHome StarBright Toddler Bed I knew it was the perfect fit.
Nick put the bed together, which wasn’t the easiest of tasks as the instructions had steps missing and referred to parts that didn’t exist. A particular favourite instruction was to insert the screws labelled “?”, only to find all the screws were labelled “?”… But my Husband enjoys a challenge, and in the main it was obvious which bit should go where, so he managed to build the bed within two hours.
Not the greatest start, but once assembled we were very impressed!
The bed is absolutely perfect! It’s made entirely of very sturdy MDF (other than the nightlight) and is just wonderful. The headboard is shaped like a cloud, and everything has rounded edges; it’s a stunningly soft design.
The bed height is ideal for little people clambering in and out, and a safe enough height for any daredevils who might enjoy jumping off the bed… Naming no names *cough* Busby.
The sides of the bed have toddler rails so your little person doesn’t fall out in the middle of the night, and a side table, (which can be fixed on either side depending on which way round the room is) for books, a glass of water and anything else your Toddler’s heart desires! Apparently the side table can also be used as a seat for parents for reading and/or 3am Toddler raves.
Busby is completely in love with the bed, and who wouldn’t be?! Her favourite thing about it is the built-in nightlight, which was swiftly incorporated into her bedtime routine – she has to switch it on as soon as she climbs into bed… We, her parents, are not allowed! The gorgeous moon shines through the headboard and projects stars on the curtains behind. It switches off automatically after 15 minutes, but is easily switched on again if your Toddler has decided to stay awake reading in bed. The nightlight is battery powered.
My favourite thing about the bed are the thick tree trunk legs, which are super sturdy and look gorgeous. I also love that the bed in unisex, and I can see Indy ogling over it in the coming years!
The HelloHome StarBright Toddler Bed doesn’t come with a mattress, but a standard size cotbed mattress (140cm x 69cm) fits perfectly.
We were fortunate enough to be sent a HelloHome mattress for the toddler bed. The mattress is made of quilted foam and is very comfortable! I’ve found myself falling asleep a couple of times when we’ve been playing “bedtime” and Busby has tucked me up.
As the bed is Toddler-sized it won’t last forever, but I know Busby will want to stay in it as long as she can! It’s recommended for up to 5 years of age.
The HelloHome StarBright Toddler Bed from Worlds Apart is priced at £149.99. It is available to buy online and from several major retailers (including Argos and Very). Despite the initial issues with assembly, we’ve been so impressed with the bed, and everyone who comes to visit comments on how beautiful it is… I wish they made them for grown-ups too!!
Oh that is so so cute and I bet the night light is really pretty and soothing when she’s lying in the dark. It looks like a brilliant room with its rainbow theme, very cool curtains and wallpaper too!

Not wallpaper - lovingly hand stencilled and painted! Xxx
What a cute room! Love the look and sound of that bed. And wow your painted wall is beautiful. Saw you tweeting about it and got so nosy I had to come take a look! Love it! Well done! 🙂
Busby’s room is gorgeous, you did such a fantastic job with it.
That toddler bed is adorable and fits in so well with the theme of the room. Perfect!
We didn’t buy a cot bed (instead, just a standard cot) for Jasmine so it’s something we’ll have to look at getting in the future.
xx

I absolutely love this. It’s so well thought out with the lnight light and the little bedside table. I also love your wallpaper! Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested
The bed looks fantastic! I love stars on my ceiling! I’ve just broken free from my cot (escaped over the bars) so need a toddler bed before I hurt myself! Beautiful room as well x #TriedTested x
That bed is beautiful. And wow I can’t believe you stenciled on all those clouds, looks fab. x
What a beautiful bed! I’m super envious of her gorgeous cloud themed bedroom!
Amy is going to be moving into a toddler bed soon *sob* so we’re going to be in the market for some new furniture.
Thanks for sharing your review on #TriedTested this week x
I love this bed and wanted to purchase for my son but with the table on it won’t fit. Are you able to use the bed without attaching the table/seat? Wondered if you would be kind enough to measure the width without the table if that is possible. Beautiful room!
