What Busby Wore // Woodland Raincoat from Powell Craft

Rather frustratingly, my darling toddler has decided that she no longer wishes to have her photo taken… This from the girl who used to ask me to scroll through my Facebook feed to look at pictures of herself, and found her way into my iPhoto Library just to gaze at her portrait, I’m finding this most odd. I’m sure it’s just a phase, part of her “threenager” assertion, or perhaps she’s just fed up of being the star of a blog? Who knows.

After bartering with cake, she finally agreed to let me follow her around the garden in her beautiful new coat from Powell Craft. I spent the time snapping away, hoping she might stay still for more than a second so I could capture her beautiful face. Alas this did not happen, but I did manage to capture her marvellous new woodland coat.

What Busby Wore: Coat – Powell Craft // Dungarees – Zara // Fox shoes – Zara

Powell Craft are a (Brighton based!) British company who specialise in beautifully-made, vintage-inspired items for children. You may recognise the name from independent boutiques or even garden centres!

I am completely in love with this coat! It goes with everything in Busby’s (unintentionally) woodland themed AW15 wardrobe. The pattern is stunningly adorned with woodland creatures, and would be the perfect unisex coat; we’ll definitely be saving this for Indy once he’s big enough!

Busby wears age 4-5 in these photos (she’s 3 in December and is tall for her age), which fits wonderfully everywhere but the sleeves. As you can see the sleeves are a little big at the moment, but the gorgeous plush red (100% cotton) lining means that they can be rolled up and actually enhance the look of the coat. The hood is also lined, which makes it extra cosy on cooler days.

As the weather has been surprisingly lovely for the start of autumn, we haven’t had a chance to put the coat through its paces in the rain, but it looks to be perfectly showerproof.

The coat is fastened by poppers, which are great for encouraging toddler dressing/undressing independence. It also has two poppered pockets – ideal for storing leaves, rocks or shells!

Busby loves the coat, which is very important for a stubborn toddler with a specific taste in fashion! We’ve had lots of fun pointing out the animals, and it’s also been a great conversation starter for talking about autumn.

The Powell Craft woodland raincoat is an absolutely classic, gorgeous design, which I can see being in our family for years to come. Powell Craft are due to launch their online store in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, this gorgeous coat can be found in a number of independent online boutiques for around £25.99.

AHA! we are totally in that phase of not wanting to have our picture taken. She absolutely refused to look at me, and then she noticed that the baby was having more ‘fashion shoots’ than her…. she now promptly flings herself at the lens whenever she sees the camera.
I love this jacket. We always buy a Hatley raincoat for each age step, but this looks just as smart. I love the print and since you’ve just told me that it it’s Brigton based, I love it even more!!!

Oh my goodness, that coat is amazing! I have a real thing for anything woodland-themed. I’ll have to check out the online store when it becomes available because I’ve not heard of that brand before and love finding something new! Busby looks so cute in the coat too!

That coat is gorgeous!!! This would be perfect for Leah’s forest school adventures at nursery, so fitting. Thank you very much for sharing, I’m off to stalk Powell Craft to see what else they have to share in the coming weeks. #TT_Thursday

Gorgeous coat! Syd goes through the “no photos, mummy” thing quite often. Then I make a big fuss of taking photos of Sam and showing everyone & suddenly she’s happy to pose again! #TT_Thursday
