Indy // Bubbaroo Baby Sleep Diary Entry #3

We’re terribly thankful to be working with the Infant Sleep Consultants and Bubbaroo on the #BubbarooBabySleepDiary project. You can find all of our previous posts here.

Day Twelve: Tuesday 29th September (continued)

We had a bit of a breakthrough this afternoon – Indy slept in his new pushchair whilst out and about, and then continued to sleep in it when we got home! He’s never done this before, so it’s either the cold knocking him out or we’re getting somewhere! Fingers crossed for the latter.

Day Thirteen: Wednesday 30th September

Another bad night due to Indy’s cold. We’re going to try and raise his crib even more tonight to see whether that helps.

Indy and I fell back to sleep when Nick and Busby left for work and Nursery this morning – only for an hour, but every little helps! He slept in his pushchair again today. We also received our new Bubbaroo sleeping bags today, so I’m very much looking forward to trying them! Especially the super warm one, as Indy really does like to be cosy.

Day Fourteen: Thursday 1st October

Oh golly… another dreadful night. I’m so glad Busby is at Nursery today as I’m not sure how I’d have the energy for two children. I’m running on about 3 hours sleep…

One bonus of a dreadful night has been that Indy has slept lots during the day today – both in the sling and in the pushchair again (magic Xplory!) I even managed a Costa chai latte trip which perked me right up.

Day Fifteen: Friday 2nd October

Another bad night… this cold is driving me bananas. I’m reaching the point where I can’t even remember how long we were up in the night for as each night is blurring into one.

I had a bit of a “thought breakthrough” earlier – Indy has been dribbling lots and suddenly screaming (in a different way to how he tenses up when windy/possible-reflux), so thought he may well be teething! Especially as this cold has been going on seemingly forever now… Teething gel has worked wonders today!  I had an email from our sleep consultant Annie this afternoon, and she says that we can now eliminate hunger as the problem. Indy’s sleep has certainly improved since we introduced the structured feeding routine, and I feel like he would be down to a 5am bassline if it wasn’t for this cold/teething. Next course of action is either seeing a Gastro Paediatrician, as it’s more than likely he has silent reflux, or trying an alternative before resulting to drugs. I’ve been reading up on Cranial Osteopathy, and think this may be our first port-of-call as am reluctant to start giving him drugs or special formula if something natural could help first.

Day Sixteen: Saturday 3rd October

Hurrah! Finally a better night! Only one wake up between 11.30-6am! He then slept on me until 7am.

Not only did we achieve a decent night of sleep with only one wake up, but he slept in pushchair again! That’s four times out of four!

Indy has been pretty miserable today – something has really been bothering him… He’s been very windy and we’ve had lots of dirty nappies! Wondering whether it’s the cold/teething? I remember Busby used to have lots of dirty nappies on bad teething days.

Indy has also been quite wired. When he has slept he hasn’t slept for long… We had some friends over this afternoon, and he was awake from their arrival at 5pm until after they left at 9.30pm! I tried everything to get him to sleep, but he just wants to be part of the fun. He’s finally asleep in the sling with Nick now while I type at 11pm… fingers crossed for another good night! Our Bubbaroo Joey Swag sleeping bags are now laundered and ready to rumble, so he’ll be trying one out tonight!

So glad you’re seeing a difference and getting some sleep. I hope you continue to see improvements day by day and he learns that long lie ins are wonderful things! We’re on about 3 hours straight right now.
