Monday was a good day. This post made it onto the Mumsnet Front Page (and they used my photo rather than a stock photo, which made me rather happy!), I received two exciting parcels in the post (I love a good post day) and, after finally settling H-Bear for his nap, I came downstairs to discover that I had made it as a finalist in the Photography category for the BritMums Brilliance in Blogging (BiBs) Awards!
I *may* have screamed a little bit… and then quickly hushed because I remembered that H-Bear had only just gone to sleep!
I am completely shocked (and still can’t quite comprehend!) that I have been selected as a finalist for a national award. I turned to photography to help with my Postnatal Depression and Anxiety after having H-Bear; it was (and still is) my therapy, and to be nationally recognised for something I adore doing so very much, is utterly overwhelming. You can read more about my photography journey here.
So… what are the BiBs?
The BiBs are an annual national blogging award ceremony that celebrates brilliance in blogging over the whole parenting blogger network. They are hosted by BritMums, the UK’s largest and most influential collective of lifestyle bloggers and social influencers. The awards ceremony will take place at the end of September at the BritMums Live conference.
How can I vote?
There are eight finalists in the Photography category – and all of us would love to win!
If you enjoy my photography (both on the blog and on Instagram) then I would be so chuffed if you would consider voting for me.
You can find the voting form here
Voting closes on Sunday 2nd July 2017 at 23.45, and the winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in September… so I need to find a dress! Eek!
Thank you so so much for all of your nominations that have helped me get this far – and for all of the future support! Even if I don’t win, it’s such an amazing feeling to have made it as a finalist!
Here are a few of my favourite photos from the past couple of months (with a sneaky peek at some of our Lake District adventures):
