Review + Giveaway // New Maryland Cookies Thins

We are a family of cookie monsters, to the point where if H-Bear hears the word “cookie” he will spend the next 30 minutes doing his best impression of the big furry blue guy. It’s adorable. So when Maryland Cookies sent us a huge box of their new Thins cookies, we were all rather excited!

The new Thins come in two flavours – ‘Milk & Dark Choc’ and ‘Salted Caramel’. The Thins are baked using a new light and crispy recipe, and at 79 calories for two cookies, you don’t feel too guilty for having more than one (or half the pack…) in a sitting.

Sadly, these are not ‘H-Bear friendly’ with both milk and soya appearing in the ingredients, but hey, all the more for me to scoff secretly in the kitchen while I get dinner ready.

Milk & Dark Choc

This is our resident chocolate fiend’s (Busby) favourite flavour from the new range. The chocolate chips are plentiful in each cookie and melt beautifully when dipped in tea – or Busby’s preferred hot beverage: hot chocolate! She also loves to dunk them in milk.

They’re a fab treat either by themselves, or sprinkled over ice cream. Serving suggestions on the box also say that they’re pretty yummy as mini-ice cream sandwiches!

Salted Caramel

The salted caramel cookies are my favourite. I cannot resist anything with salted caramel in the title. Because they’re a little bit sweeter than the choc chip flavour, they’re absolutely delicious to munch on with coffee. The perfect parenting treat after a bad night!

The salted caramel Thins have caramel pieces throughout the cookie (which look a little bit like chocolate chips! See above.) and have a lovely flavour to them.

I love dunking my biscuits and cookies in my tea, and the Maryland Cookies Thins are very dunkable! Although you have to be quick, as they dissolve quite quickly being so thin!

The Maryland Cookies Thins retail at around £1.59 for a 128g box, and can be found in most supermarkets. They’d be the perfect sweet treat to take round to a friends house for a coffee morning.
