Adventures // Half Term fun in Hull

How are we halfway through half term already?! This week is flying by!

Yesterday, Busby and I headed into Hull to spend the day with our friends Laura (@mrsloupops) and her son, Little T. H-Bear was at nursery, and it’s rare that Busby and I get solo time together, so I always like to make the most of it!

We had such a wonderful day.

We started off by having lunch at (our favourite) Thieving Harry’s on Humber Street, and spent a few hours exploring the awesome galleries and art installations that are ongoing at the moment thanks to the City of Culture!

I had deliberated taking my DSLR with me, and I’m so glad I did, as I managed to capture some gorgeous moments that I wanted to share with you in this post.

Also, a quick thank you to Next for supplying Busby’s amazing Super Woman costume! It’s been a huge hit and if she could wear it all day, every day, she definitely would!

Thieving Harry’s does one of the best brunches/lunches in Hull! Plus they’re dog (and kid) friendly. Oh, and the light is always stunning thanks to the amazing windows that look out over the marina:

It always surprises me how quiet Humber Street is; there’s so much going on and I think it’s beautiful.

Busby is obsessed with the Humber Street Gallery, so we decided to see what new exhibits were going on inside.

I really enjoyed the Hull food culture photography exhibit. I’m going to go back by myself soon and take it all in without having to repeat “will you calm down?” to an over-sugared child!

When we came back downstairs, the lovely ladies in the gallery café had made the children s’mores for Halloween!

We continued along the street, taking in all the little details:

And I even roped Busby into taking our photo (yes, we’re wearing matching coats and ears)! She did an excellent job!

Our exploration ended in the ‘The Sixteen Thousand’ exhibit, which is full of bricks made by Hull’s under fives! Sadly, the children hadn’t been involved in this as we’re just outside of Hull, but it was so impressive to see:

And we could even turn our hand to clay too, with the little clay station at the back.
