Motherhood // Winter School Gate Style

Winter is most definitely here, and we’re on the countdown to Christmas! It’s been Busby’s birthday this week, as well as her Nativity, school Christmas party, AND a group of my favourite mum-folk are getting together this evening for a “We survived their first term at school” after-school soiree (translated: there will be A LOT of prosecco).

So I’ve been looking for something fab to wear at the school gate this afternoon – and for the perfect party dress to wear throughout the festive season (and beyond)!

Thankfully, the team at Simply Be got in touch and sent me a selection of lovely clothes from their website. I have to admit that I’d never shopped at Simply Be before, but I was pleasantly surprised by their range, so I am completely sorted!

Jeans are a must for the school run. They’re comfortable and practical for walking, lifting toddlers, and having dirty hands wiped on them! I’ve also discovered that they’re pretty hardy against puppies who like to nip!

I love to team my jeans with either a pair of Chelsea boots, or my current favourite – a pair of metallic trainers. Simply Be have a vast range of jeans – and I decided to opt for a pair of Amber Skinny Jeggings in dark indigo, because they’re so versatile and go with everything.

For the top half of my school gate style outfit, I chose this Koko ‘Limitless’ sweater. I loved the ruffles and positivity! It’s more of a thick tee than a sweater, but it will ace for the after-school soiree with a strappy top on underneath.

Finally, for Christmas Day, I chose this beautiful midnight blue Lovedrobe velvet dress. The pleated skirt is very on-trend, and I thought it would look lovely teamed with a pair of gold shoes that I already own. It was so hard to choose! Simply Be have such a fab collection of party dresses.

So, I’m sorted for tonight AND the whole festive period! Now I must start wrapping presents… and chilling the prosecco.

What are you wearing on Christmas Day?
