Adventures // Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire

Our Easter Holidays are now over *sob*. Although our plans changed from visiting family and friends in Sussex, we still managed to have a lovely time.

The weather was rather pants for most of the second week, but Thursday was gorgeous, so we headed to Brimham Rocks in North Yorkshire, which is owned by the National Trust.

I’d put out a shout-out on Instagram Stories the week prior to our visit, asking for recommendations for dog friendly National Trust walks/properties in Yorkshire and Brimham Rocks came out on top. Our National Trust membership has been one of our essential family ‘must-haves’ since we became parents – we use it constantly when we’re in the Lake District, and it’s always so useful when we’re on road trips and we need to stop somewhere for a break!

Brimham Rocks is the perfect family day out – and judging by how busy it was – we weren’t the only ones who thought so! The sun shone bright, the sky was an amazing azure blue and we spent hours climbing and exploring.

Bertie never stopped, the children never stopped – and I had a couple of small heart attacks when the children got a little too close to the edge!

Busby and H-Bear enjoyed a little boogie on the rocks… because if you can’t have a dance interlude during a National Trust adventure, when can you?!

We all had such a wonderful day in the sunshine at Brimham Rocks, and we can’t wait to return once the bilberries are out.

Brimham Rocks was also very dog-friendly, with so many dogs around (and no dog poo on the ground!) and even a water bowl near the kiosk and toilets. Bertie had the best time!
