Adventures // Our first Beach Sunday of April

Our first Beach Sunday of April saw us heading to Wilsthorpe again for a dog walk and picnic. Originally we had planned to park at Fraisthorpe, but they’ve opened the parking booth for ‘summer’ (*laughs and looks out the window at pouring rain*) and we didn’t have enough money on us… and parking at Wilsthorpe is free.

It was great to be back on the beach again after a few weeks away. Bertie relished every moment; I’m not sure he stopped once! The children always love a beach adventure. And Nick and I appreciated not having an extremely muddy dog by the end of the walk. (I mean, seriously, this rain needs to stop!)

Nick’s parents joined us for their first Beach Sunday adventure – and enjoyed reminiscing about the area!

The lovely folk at Pink Lining sent the children these wonderful insulated lunch boxes from their new collection. We’ve had to bring them on every adventure since they arrived… and Busby is now desperate for a packed lunch to take to school!

They cost £17.99 each, and come in the yummy ‘Lollipop‘ and super cute ‘Percy the Puffin‘ designs pictured.

After lunch we had a little walk and then did some jumping off sand dunes (a favourite past time!).

I roped Nick’s dad into taking some photos of the four (and five of us – when Bertie decided to join us). I absolutely adore them! We don’t really have any photos of all of us… which, while trying to corral the troops, I realised why! But I’m so happy that we now all exist in a photo together.

We’re in Scotland next weekend, so ‘Beach Sunday’ will be ‘Loch Sunday’! I can’t wait!

Love the family photos! When I was a kid we used to take sledges to the beach and go down the sand dunes

Oh it looks like you had a great time! ‘summer’ that made me giggle, though I can’t wait for summer this year.
