Baking a Bun // 7 weeks pregnant

Monday 16th April 2018

7 weeks today! And I am not sleeping well at all. We’re away in Scotland and I’ve had the most awful upset tummies since we’ve been here. Every time I lie down, my stomach starts to hurt and I have to run to the loo. Not ideal. Thank goodness for the ensuite!

I have my scan tomorrow morning. Terrified doesn’t quite describe how I feel. I’m so scared to hear the words “I’m sorry, but there’s no heartbeat” again. So worried that the baby will have stopped growing and I’ll have to go through another miscarriage.

I was so excited, but the fear has really taken hold this evening. I really have everything crossed that this baby is ok and will keep on growing for us. I can’t wait to meet them.

I’m having some really intense sweet cravings at the moment (including the dreaded Coca Cola)… as well as cheese. I want to consume a lot of cheese!

The nausea isn’t too bad. It hits me every now and then and I end up retching, but I’ve been trying to keep as busy as possible (and get lots of fresh air) and that’s been helping immensely.

We had the scan today and everything was perfect. Bun has a good heart rate and is growing accordingly with our dates so I guess we can announce in the next few days! Eek! I can’t wait to be out of the pregnancy closet – I’m so rubbish at keeping secrets and keeping things to myself.

The sonographer gave us a new estimated due date of 2nd December 2018, which takes us further away from Busby’s birthday thankfully! December is still going to be BUSY, but at least she won’t have to share her birthday.

I bought a pack of nectarines earlier and I am SO excited to eat them! Ha!

We’re announcing tomorrow! Eek!
