Baking a Bun // 9 weeks pregnant

Monday 30th April 2018

I turned 9 weeks pregnant yesterday! Yay! Baby is the size of a pecan and now has tiny hands and feet. I can’t wait to squish them!

We were in bed by 10pm last night; I couldn’t keep going any longer, so I had a bath as soon as the children were asleep, watched some TV with Nick (accompanied by a cheese sandwich) and then zonked out in bed. SO tired!

I seem to be craving yoghurt and cheese at the moment… also coca cola still, which I’m trying to ration to one can a day (still not ideal – I haven’t drunk the sugary coke for YEARS). Water is making me feel so ill and leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. I initially thought it was the water here in East Yorkshire, but even bottled water makes me feel yucky. I’m usually all about the water and drink litres a day, but I can’t stomach it at all right now.

I’ve been having a few cramps and some discharge over the past day or so. I have everything crossed that it’s just Bun growing and stretching in there.

It’s my work day today and I’m trying to get everything done so I can take next week off to rest. I haven’t really stopped since the week we conceived, so I’m in desperate need of a day to sleep and rest!

I’m feeling a bit better today. I ate too much pizza last night and came to bed feeling full to the point of sickness, but I’ve not felt sick really this morning! Fingers crossed this is a good thing…

Wednesday 2nd May 2018

I had my booking appointment today and it went really well. I was absolutely dreading it as the last time I was there was for our lost baby’s booking appointment. I saw a different midwife though, and she was LOVELY and understanding. Our scan has been booked for 23rd May, which is 6 days before Busby’s first scan back in 2012! I’m really liking being pregnant on a similar timeline to another pregnancy; it’s bringing back lots of happy memories and my maternity coat is going to come in very handy (I never used it in H’s pregnancy)!

I really can’t deal with the dishwasher when it’s clean. It’s so strange, but I’ve been sick lots after catching a whiff of the smell! I’m also finding our laundry powder and my perfume quite hard to deal with… but I LOVE the smell of mint and stood next to Nick this evening while he chopped it up, just sniffing. He thought I was a bit odd!

I’m so thankful for the long weekend ahead; I’m absolutely shattered!

Saturday 5th May 2018

I have been FULL of energy today! This warm, sunny weather is definitely giving me a huge Vitamin D boost and I don’t feel as sick in the sunshine.
