Baking a Bun // 15 weeks pregnant

Sunday 10th June 2018

I spent the whole morning being sick. I feel so sad as we were supposed to be going into Hull to cheer Nick on at the end of his 10k, but there was no way I would have been able to go. I was feeling so much better on Friday and Saturday; I was convinced I was through the worst of it, but today has completely knocked me.*sigh* Enough grumbling now…

I spent this afternoon having an almost three hour nap, which was very much needed and I’ve felt much better since waking up!

Today, I also tried the bicarb gender test which came out as girl! Only 20 days until we find out!

I’m feeling good again today. Tired, but good. I have such a craving for olives this week! Olives and avocados, which is funny because Bun is the size of an avocado this week.

I’ve spent most of the day in the garden – trying to tidy up a bit and I planted my new rose too. My back is aching a lot this evening, and the school run was interesting because of it; I had a bit of a waddle going on!

I took Busby out for an impromptu dinner date at the Italian in our village because she keeps not-so suitably hinting that she wants to go back there for pizza. I had the most gorgeous pot of olives to munch on. They were incredible! I also snuck some of her pizza… Mummy Tax and all that jazz.

I didn’t sleep very well last night because I felt Bun ripple across my tummy at midnight… which excited me greatly! Then I was urging him/her to do it again.

Anyway…! I fulfilled the avocado craving this morning before my driving lesson and it was gooood! My driving lesson was also brilliant and there’s every chance that I may pass before Bun’s arrival in December, if I keep progressing as I am. I was always so worried that I’d be appalling at driving, but it seems quite natural, which has been a big relief. There’s just so much to remember… and I can imagine it gets even more difficult with children in the car! I think that should be part of the test though – the sound of kids bickering in the back while you try and drive safely along.

Friday 15th June 2018

Nausea has been rife today. I was almost sick in my hand on the way to our toddler class this morning. Not ideal. I had to swing by town on the way to grab a bottle of water and something to eat so I could survive the hour long chaos of the class!

Friday’s are now super busy days, and I’m always broken by the time I sit down after bedtime. All the walking is excellent for keeping my fitness levels up; I just wish this tiredness would disappear now! Come on second trimester – make me bloom!

Saturday 16th June 2018

We’re travelling down to Wales tomorrow for a few days at Bluestone. I’m looking forward to the break from the normal routine and lots of fresh air, as that always helps the nausea.

My Mother-in-Law put on the most amazing afternoon tea earlier though, which helped immensely with the nausea. Grazing is the way forward.

I can’t believe I turn 16 weeks tomorrow – it still doesn’t seem real.

Oh bless you with the sickness. I can completely empathise as I had it up until 15 weeks last time with Nate. I’ve been let off quite lightly this time though (touch wood). You look fab in the dungarees! How exciting you may pass your test before bun is here - so exciting, but totally agree that they should test with children in the car 😉 Hope week 16 is easier on you. xx
