I turn 16 weeks today – and we’re off to Wales for a few days on adventures! I can’t wait!
Baby is the size of an action figure this week. Apparently Bun can now hear and weighs around 4oz.

We’ve been away in Wales all week and I haven’t really had an opportunity to write!
I didn’t sleep well at all while we were away, and consequently my anxiety has been awful. I’ve become so worried that I’m going to lose the baby – even though I can feel Bun wriggling away in there. I think it’s being away from home that fuelled this… that and the lack of sleep. I’ve become a really light sleeper this week; waking up at every sound. It took me over two hours to get to sleep on Monday night because I was so worried that the kids weren’t ok, or that I could hear noises.
The nausea was much better while we were away. I still couldn’t deal with the dishwasher in the lodge we were staying in, but I’m gradually feeling less and less sick.
Despite the sleep deprivation and anxiety, we had a lovely time in Wales (more on that in a separate post) and although I’m feeling absolutely exhausted from our daily adventures, I’m so glad we went and had some time away just the four of us.
We arrived home last night, and I immediately slept better being back in our own bed. Perhaps Bun is turning me into a homebody?!
I’ve been craving cheese, herbal tea and more cheese this week. Cheese and cherry tomato sandwiches are what I dream about! I’m also enjoying the Moroccan falafel from Aldi, which is very yummy!
Not much else to report this week. I have my 16/17 week midwife appointment on Monday, and I will hopefully hear the heartbeat, so that should help put my mind at ease. Plus we have our gender scan next Saturday! I still don’t have a clue what to do for our gender reveal… I’m going to be madly scrolling through Pinterest for an idea that isn’t the typical ‘pink’ or ‘blue’.
