Baking a Bun // 18 weeks pregnant

Sunday 1st July 2018

Bun is the size of a croissant or sweet potato today and weighs about 7oz.

This morning, Busby has been very interested in watching the video from our scan yesterday. We’ve had a barrage of questions from her, and I love that she’s taking such an interest! We’ve decided to take both the children to our 4D scan in September to make it all a bit more real for them.

I’m hoping by the time I publish this update, I’ll have published my gender reveal! So you’ll know that we’re having a girl!

Wednesday 4th July 2018

I spent the day in London yesterday at an event with Mumsnet and Mama Mio for the launch of their #ExpectingChange campaign. It was great – and a lovely opportunity to catch up with people and meet new faces! I was completely exhausted by the time I returned to Yorkshire at almost 10pm, but it was worth it. It’s gone 9am here, and I’m sitting in bed with H-Bear. I think we’re going to have a quiet morning (which is needed!).

I braved the tube (phew! It was HOT!) and went to the Cath Kidston flagship store yesterday! I bought Busby and Bun a matching dinosaur dress each… I’m very much looking forward to a bit of twinning, before Busby gets too old and decides that dressing similarly to the baby isn’t ‘cool’. She’s already agreed to matching unicorn outfits for her birthday party.

Nausea has been much better so far this week (finally!) and I don’t feel like everything is so much of a struggle. Possibly not blooming yet, but definitely feeling more perky than previous weeks. Nick is away with work for some of next week, and I’m absolutely dreading it. H-Bear doesn’t sleep well when he’s away (I think because he knows that he could potentially join me in bed!) and I’m not envisaging tons of sleep. I keep joking that I’m going to book myself into a spa for the next week when he comes back… it’s very tempting!

Thursday 5th July 2018

So, I definitely overdid it on Tuesday! I spent yesterday afternoon napping and with a stinking headache. Pregnancy is fun isn’t it?

It’s my work day today, so I’m typing from bed. Feeling a bit brighter this morning, although I can already feel the want to nap creeping up!

Saturday 7th July 2018

We filmed our gender reveal today! Eek! I still can’t believe we’re having another girl!

My skin has gone crazy over the past couple of days – my forehead especially. It’s absolutely covered in spots… really need to book a facial, as nothing I have at home seems to be touching it.

The weird taste in my mouth and the nausea have been back with vengeance since my trip to London on Tuesday – I’ve been so exhausted since then.

My solo parenting time is about to start… which is not good timing considering how exhausted I’ve felt this week! Fingers crossed I get a burst of boundless energy from somewhere for the next few days.
