Baking a Bun // 22 weeks pregnant

Sunday 29th July 2018

22 weeks pregnant today! Eek! Bun is the size of a corn on the cob and weighs around 450g.

The headaches that plagued me last week seem to still be prevalent today. I had similar during Busby’s pregnancy, so I think it’s just the increase of oestrogen in body.

The coming week is going to be less busy (thankfully), and Nick’s parents are having the kids for a few days at the end of the week. We were going to go away on a ‘Babymoon’, but we’ve decided to stay home and have a ‘Babymoon’ here. I’m not sleeping particularly well away from home during this pregnancy, and we have so many restaurants we want to try around here, that it seems a shame to go and explore somewhere new when we could spend a few days exploring our area. I’m really looking forward to spending some time with just Nick – and eating tasty food!

I’ve not been sleeping particularly well this week. It feels like I’m just skimming the top of sleep, but not properly sleeping. It’s such a weird sensation. I’m missing the children lots, but it’s so nice to be able to sit here in bed, watching Orange is the New Black while I write this. No one is demanding anything from me. Nick came home at lunch with a sandwich for me and we’re off out for dinner again tonight. Utter bliss.

I’m a bit perplexed today… I’ve received a letter from the Ultrasound Department, booking me in for a growth scan. No one has mentioned any extra scans in any appointments, and there’s nothing on the letter that says why I have to have this extra scan. It’s probably a mistake and I’m going to call up on Monday to see what’s going on… It’s just a bit odd!

Cravings this week have included pasta and cheese again, and I’ve wanted chocolate quite a lot. We’ve eaten incredibly well thanks to our lovely relaxing stay-at-home ‘Babymoon’ and I wish we could have a few more days, as I’m beginning to actually feel rested. The 9am lie ins have been amazing – I seem to be getting my best sleep between 6-9am.

23 weeks tomorrow! It’s all going so quickly!
