Once again, it’s been a busy week! Busby and I have spent most of this week staying down in Sussex with family. We’ve caught up with friends and had a wonderful day together in London. It’s been so lovely to be able to spend some one-to-one time with just her, as this will happen even less once Bun has arrived!
The week hasn’t been without its stress though, and I’ve found that Bun hasn’t been moving as much as previous weeks as I’ve been quite tense. She’s been a lot more active today thankfully, which has been a huge relief as I was busy googling “reduced movements” first thing this morning and wondering whether we should call Nick’s parents so we could go up to the maternity unit.
This week I have been craving a lot of mango-related foods. Waitrose Apple and Mango juice has been a big hit with Bun! I’ve also been craving cheese and ham sandwiches, and chocolate.
My tummy has been a bit dodgy again this week. I think it must be down to hormonal surges… it’s just rather annoying – especially when travelling! As well as food cravings, I’ve also been craving smells – namely the Little Soap Company’s Rose Geranium bubble bath that I discovered at my mum’s house. Oh my goodness, it is divine! I’m going to order some next week, so I can use it at home too (they also have a handwash and body wash, so I might have to treat myself to those as well…!). I can’t resist the smell of roses. We’ve had a few late bloomers come out in the garden this week, and I haven’t been able to stop myself sitting on the bench smelling them.
I’ve been singing a fair amount this week, which Bun seems to enjoy. She wriggles around when she hears my voice – I think she’s appreciating a few renditions of songs from Les Mis!
Other than the above, it’s been a fairly quiet week in terms of pregnancy. Bun is now the size of a puffin according to my app… and I really feel like I’ve popped. I was offered seats on the train to and from London the other day, which was so lovely, so I must be looking pregnant and less like I’ve just eaten too much pastry.
We’re going to go up into the loft tomorrow and have a search for baby clothes so I can begin nesting. I keep buying things and I really need to take stock of what we already have before I buy anything more… although I just can’t resist teeny baby clothes!
