30 weeks pregnant today! And apparently Bun is the size of a platypus. I can’t believe I’ve made it to 30 weeks!

It’s been quite an eventful day! I ended up on the antenatal triage ward this morning due to the headaches I’ve been having all weekend. Last night I had another funny turn and my vision went really blurry; I felt like my head was going to explode with throbbing. I phoned up the triage midwives in the morning, and was advised to go straight in.
The staff were all so lovely. They monitored Bun’s heartbeat, took my blood pressure and tested my urine. Then the doctor came and saw me to test my reflexes. Thankfully none of the results pointed to preeclampsia, so they think the headaches are probably caused by water retention putting extra pressure on my brain. I have to go back in if my symptoms get any worse… and keep taking paracetamol for pain relief!
I’ve spent this afternoon asleep, and Nick’s parents are helping with the school run tomorrow so I can rest more. I guess it’s just another indication that I need to slow down!

We had our first hypnobirthing refresher lesson this evening, which was fantastic! As Nick said to me afterwards: “I haven’t seen you that relaxed in months!” We left feeling really positive and excited about our birth choices.
Today is a difficult day as it’s a year ago that we had the scan to diagnose our missed miscarriage. I’ve been surprisingly positive all day though (yesterday was a different story!) and have ended up having a really lovely day; going into Busby’s school for a bit this afternoon and then dinner out with Nick before hypnobirthing this evening.
I just need to keep positive that everything will be wonderful with Bun’s birth: I’ve totally got this!

We’ve been at a gorgeous wedding all of today. I’m feeling absolutely shattered this evening though! We’re staying overnight in a hotel, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to sleep as my homing instinct is crazy at the moment and I don’t tend to sleep well away from home.
I realised that I haven’t written about my cravings this week… They have mostly included biscuits (again!) – especially Jaffa Cakes. Also lemon san pellegrino and apples.
31 weeks tomorrow and only 6-11 weeks until we meet Bun! We really need to get on with some baby-prep jobs next week!!
