31 weeks pregnant today! Time is going SO quickly now! Bun is approximately the size of an otter… and she’s wriggling around like one – especially at night.
I didn’t sleep well at all last night… In fact, I didn’t get to sleep until 4.30am. The joys of pregnancy insomnia and sleeping away from home! On the plus side, I did manage to almost finish the book I was reading.
I had a three hour nap when we got back home, and then Nick brought me brunch in bed. He’s a super star! I probably could have slept all day…
Monday 1st October 2018
We were in bed by 9.30pm last night and fast asleep by 10pm! I feel something akin to hungover this morning (without the fun of the drinking), so it’s a quiet day ahead for H-Bear and I. He’s full of cold anyway, so it’s probably for the best. Just the school run to do this afternoon.
Wednesday 3rd October 2018
Ooh the school run was a challenge today! Bun was in such an awkward, uncomfortable position that I had to keep stopping to try and shuffle her around. I felt so much pressure down below too… From the last few times I’ve seen the midwife/been in hospital, I know that she’s head down already, which is great news. Hopefully she’ll stay in that position!
We agreed in my driving lesson this afternoon that I’d have five more lessons and then have a little ‘maternity leave’ from them. Turning around to see over my shoulder is becoming more and more uncomfortable as my bump grows, and in my instructor’s words: “You look more and more exhausted with every week that passes.” I must admit that I’m looking forward to some time off from learning – and I’m going to try and take my theory test before she arrives so at least that’s out of the way!
Thursday 4th October 2018
It’s a work day for me today, and I started the day by taking Bertie for a walk. It was so lovely to get out in the woods… although my hips are suffering now and I’ve got the school run to do soon!
Cravings this week have included chocolate covered pretzels, Coke Zero and biscuits again. Especially Jaffa Cakes… I’m all over Jaffa Cakes!
My breasts have been aching quite a lot this week too, which hopefully means they’re gearing up for feeding. I still haven’t fully decided what I’m going to do feeding-wise, as I’ve experienced both sides and know that really and truly, it doesn’t matter how you feed your baby – as long as you and they are happy. It’s something I’m going to ponder over the next few weeks.
Saturday 6th October 2018
32 weeks tomorrow and another week has flown by! I have the midwife on Monday, so I’m hoping I don’t get the grumpy one again. Nick is coming with me for moral support, especially as we’ll be booking the home birth visit and I don’t think I can take much more negativity from Mrs Grump.
Lots of people have suggested Epsom salts for my aching muscles and leg cramps, so I’ve given them a go in my baths this week. They have worked a treated and I haven’t had to leap out of bed at 3am with cramp at all since using them.
Not much else to report this week… other than now we’re in October, she could feasibly arrive next month! I better start painting the nursery!
