I’m 32 weeks pregnant today! Bun had me flitting in and out of sleep from 4am this morning with Braxton Hicks contractions (following the most bizarre dream that I was actually in labour). I’d forgotten about how uncomfortable Braxton Hicks can be. It’s also quite exciting because it means we are nearing the end of pregnancy!
According to my app, Bun is the size of an armadillo this week… and weighs around 1.8kg.
I’ve been completely shattered today and the horrible taste in my mouth has returned. I’m very much looking forward to getting back to normal with tastes – especially tea, as I still can’t drink it and I honestly don’t know who I am anymore…!
We have been pumpkin picking today though, which was lovely! I got Nick to take some bump photos.

I had my 32 week midwife appointment today. It was with the grumpy midwife, but she was surprisingly cheerful so it was quite a painless appointment! Bun’s heartbeat was lovely, my bump is measuring at 31 weeks (unsurprising as I’m not expecting her to be a big baby) and my blood pressure was fine. She’s also head down and almost engaged. Eek!
I’ve got my home birth booking visit next week, which is very exciting. It’s all starting to feel real now…

I had a vision of Bun today on the way to school. It was the moment I brought her into my arms out of the birthing pool and laid her on my chest. It’s the first time I’ve really imagined her (which I guess is a self-preservation thing), but I was suddenly filled with so much love and had butterflies in my tummy. It’s all getting so close now!

I’m working from bed today! Hurrah! I have a new laptop thanks to an Instagram campaign I’m participating in, and it has been SO useful to be able to work from the sofa and bed again – my hips and back can’t take sitting at my desk for too long anymore.
Sleep is getting progressively more difficult… Bun likes to wriggle around just as I’m falling off to sleep, and then high-fives my bladder throughout the night. Then there’s the sexy ‘stuck turtle’ position that I’m finding myself in. You forget how tough the final few weeks are for sleep… and getting around in general. I managed to twist my knee when I was dancing with the kids a couple of weeks ago, and it keeps flaring up because there’s lots more pressure on it than normal.
Cravings this week have included shop-bought, low fat tuna and cucumber sandwiches. I have absolutely no idea why, but when I posted about this on Instagram, I had SO many messages from fellow preggers saying “Me too!”. It has to be the low fat ones too. Pregnancy is weird! I’m also all about the biscuits still – especially Jaffa Cakes again. I’m craving a latte so badly, but coffee has given me the worst indigestion in this pregnancy, so I don’t want to risk it.

I had another intense dream last night that I was in labour… and I woke up having strong Braxton Hicks again! I feel like Bun is really starting to gear up to her arrival. I’m so excited!
