What Mama Wore // Frugi Maternity

I’m a lot more body-confident in pregnancy and I love dressing my bump! I was very excited when the lovely folk at Frugi got in touch to see whether I’d like to choose an outfit from their gorgeous maternity range.

Obviously, as a lover of yellow, the first thing that jumped out was this beautiful mustard yellow cord pinafore.

The pinafore is a such a gorgeous, vibrant colour and so on trend for this autumn/winter. I’ve been teaming it with maternity leggings/tights and my Chelsea boots.

My clothing size is all over the place in this pregnancy; I’m anywhere between a 12-16! But as I’m still wearing size 12-14 maternity jeans and size 14 tops, I thought I’d opt for the ‘medium’ size in the pinafore (size 12-14). Sadly it wouldn’t go over my bump, so I had to exchange it for a ‘large’ (which is supposedly size 16-18). Even this is rather tight… I don’t know whether it’s because the fabric isn’t very flexible? But I’d definitely size up as there isn’t much stretch.

I also chose this wonderful long-sleeved navy Breton nursing top to go underneath the pinafore.

The top is super soft (made from 95% organic jersey cotton) and has an integrated vest layer underneath the Breton for easy feeding access. I love that this is part of the top as it means I’ll be able to continue wearing it once Bun is here!

The nursing top is such a versatile garment in my maternity wardrobe – wearing it with jeans, dungarees and of course, the yellow pinafore. It’s ideal now the weather is cooling down.

I opted for a size ‘medium’ (12-14) in the Breton top, which fits perfectly. It has a good amount of stretch too, so it will definitely see me to the end of pregnancy with a full term bump!

The Breton top costs £39 and the pinafore is £55. Both items are available to buy on the Frugi website now.
