What the Children Wore // nununu AW18

We’ve collaborated with super cool kids brand nununu quite frequently over the past couple of years, and I’m really excited to share our latest shoot on the blog today. I love coming up with locations for these shoots. There are so many places in and around Hull that work wonderfully with the nununu look!

For the AW18 collection, I opted for our local green space that has been somewhat abandoned recently. It has such a post-apocalyptic feel to it at the moment, so I thought it would be the ideal place to shoot the pieces we were sent from nununu’s new season.

Busby

Busby was sent the Star Tulle Dress (from £57) in grey and a pair of Half & Half Knit Leggings (from £49).

I absolutely adore the dress with its gorgeous tulle skirt and glitter waistband. It’s going to perfect for running around the Lake District in this Halloween, teamed with a witches hat and cloak!

The main body of the dress is made from 100% cotton and is super soft to touch. Busby has been calling it her ‘fairy dress’. She looked almost ethereal in the woods during this shoot. It’s such a fun dress for adventuring in!

The leggings are also incredibly soft and cosy, and I love the half and half look. The black and grey are very versatile, meaning she can wear them with most of her wardrobe – and she has been! They seem to be her go-to leggings at the weekends. For someone who dislikes tights (she gets very warm toes – I swear she’s a mini radiator!), these are absolutely ideal for pairing with dresses this autumn.

H-Bear

H-Bear was sent the Star Zip Hoodie (from £61) in grey, and a pair of Geometric Leggings (from £38) in yellow.

I love all of the pops of yellow in nununu’s AW18 collection, and I couldn’t resist these leggings! For a little boy who LOVES shapes, he absolutely adores these leggings.

Made from 100% cotton, they’re super comfortable and perfect for all manner of childhood activities… as you can see from the slightly muddy knees in the photos!

The star hoodie is something else I couldn’t resist and an item of clothing that he will be getting a lot of wear out of. Also made from 100% cotton, it’s another versatile piece for H-Bear’s wardrobe. This is a little boy who loves collecting treasures on walks, so the pockets are a huge hit!

He also loves the thumbholes in the sleeves of the hoodie, and was totally fascinated with them when we first put the hoodie on him.

The items I chose for H-Bear are completely unisex and will definitely be stored away for Bun once he’s grown out of them (as will Busby’s dress and leggings)!

Busby (who is a tall 5 year old) wears age 6-7 years, which fit well with room to grow. H-Bear (who is a small 3 year old) wears age 2-3 years, which fit perfectly.

If you’re looking for kids clothes that are a bit different from what you’d usually find on the high street, then I can’t recommend nununu enough. The quality is always fantastic (you definitely get what you pay for) and I love how creative the nununu designers are with each collection. All of the above items, plus the entire AW18 collection, can be found on the nununu website now.
