Siblings // November 2018

Well, this is almost certainly the final Siblings Project post featuring two children… next month (unless she is extremely overdue) there will be three of these munchkins. WOW! What a ridiculously exciting thought!

These photos were captured on a gorgeous autumnal dog walk on Sunday afternoon. My hips are struggling more and more with walking, and I’m very uncomfortable now, so being able to get out of the house and enjoy this beautiful weather is always appreciated! Who’d have thought that only two weeks ago I was scaling waterfalls in the Lake District?! I feel like I’ve gone ‘downhill’ fast.

It only really struck me on Sunday that this is the end of an era. Busby and H-Bear have come such a long way in the past three and a half years. Their friendship has blossomed and is continuously evolving. They’re not always the best of friends, but what siblings are? However, their adoration for each other is present so often these days. I think back to the first 18 months of H-Bear’s life, and how difficult we all found it to adjust. Fingers crossed for a smoother transition into our life as a family of five (or six, if we include Bertie!).

Adding another sibling to the mix is going to be interesting and most definitely a challenge. I’ve spent the past 8 months wondering what her role will be in the three? I’m hoping for mediator! We shall soon find out.

The past month has been lovely. The weather has been absolutely divine for late autumn, so our trip to the Lake District for half term was incredible. We were out every single day exploring, the house we stayed in was so beautiful (so many beams and the most wonderful freestanding bath!), and the children had the best time! I haven’t had a chance to write our adventures up yet, but it’s on my list for the next few weeks.

Busby has just been cast in a main role in her nativity (apparently they’re doing a sort of ‘Strictly Come Nativity’ this year), so we have lots of lines to learn over the coming weeks. And H-Bear is thriving at preschool. He’s always so chatty when I pick him up and has lots to tell me! He’s become even more sociable as well, which is so lovely to witness in the playground.

I’m contracting away as I sit here writing this update, so who knows – Bun may arrive shortly! We are so ready to meet our final family member now, and I can’t wait to start sharing the adventures of my three on here from next month.

They’re so adorable together - it’s going to be very exciting when there’s a third sibling in the mix! I wonder if she’ll look as much like Busby and H-Bear as they do each other? #SiblingsProject
