39 weeks of pregnancy! Wow! I’m feeling big and uncomfortable now… I’m so ready for Bun to arrive! According to my app, Bun is the size of a cat or a pumpkin, and she certainly feels that big.
We went for a dog walk in the woods this afternoon to try and get her out, and then we watched The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix in our Christmas pjs. In fact, it’s been such a lovely Christmassy weekend, preparing for the next few weeks and spending time together as a four for the last time.

Well, today was the day I was hoping Bun might arrive… No such luck. In fact, contractions (other than at 4.30am) have been pretty minimum today. I went to Holland & Barrett this afternoon and bought evening primrose oil capsules, raspberry leaf tea and clary sage oil… the lady took one look at me and said “Oh yes, I remember this stage well!”.
Nick gave me the most divine clary sage and coconut oil foot rub this evening, which was all kinds of blissful. Hopefully it will start things off again.

H-Bear stayed the night at his grandparents last night, so I slept until almost 9am this morning. Glorious! I was awake a little in the night with niggles, but nothing particularly exciting. I’ve had a cup of raspberry leaf tea this morning and I’ve got clary sage and lavender oil in the burner… Come on Bun! I know I’m not technically overdue yet, but I’m so uncomfortable and feeling ready to be able to walk normally again.
Saying that, I had a bit of an anxiety freakout about giving birth last night. Not really sure why as I know that everything will be fine and my hynobirthing training will kick in, but I felt so nervous. I think it’s an accumulation of wanting the baby to be ok, the adjustment of becoming a family of 5 and general exhaustion.

It’s not looking likely that Bun is arriving in November! I think we’ll be reaching her due date on Sunday… and possibly beyond. My next prediction date is 6th December…
I’ve been listening to Sophie Fletcher’s ‘Week 40 Wobble’ hypnobirthing track, which has helped me relax immensely. I had no idea the (almost) week 40 wobble was an actual thing, so it’s reassuring to hear this. I’m feeling a lot happier, and excited, about giving birth again.
I haven’t really had any cravings this week… just drinking copious amounts of water!
Saturday 1st December 2018
Ooh this baby is a tease! I’ve been awake since 3.30am with contractions, which swiftly disappeared about an hour after the children woke up. Sigh. Consequently, today has been spent feeling like a zombie. We did get the Christmas tree up though, and had a waddle around The Range after being unable to find our fairy lights from last year. I also bought A LOT of mince pies from Aldi…
It’s looking like I’ll make my due date tomorrow now, unless it all happens VERY quickly in the next couple of hours!
